Finally caught up Episode 2 enjoyed, but think mainly it was my excitement at seeing "Jaqen H'ghar" back again :D Did seem a bit pointless having Arya turned away but I guess it was some sort of test/proof she was ready. (Maybe we will find out the 2nd time, it was the faceless man she met before and the first one didn't was "someone else"?).

The election did feel a bit rushed, not sure they could do much else on TV that would not have had people getting bored as such. Part of me wanted Jon to take up Stannis's offer rather than win the election.

It's the same test to enter Fight Club's Project Mayhem.

(Wait outside or you can't come in... oh you're leaving you can come in anyway)

Don't read if you don't read the books.... Not major spoilers but still a warning

they are majorly incorporating the whole cersei being riddiculed storyline, seems that they want that to be more of a focus than I remember it being in the book.

Who's excited for her major shaming? :P

Separate thread for book stuff, thanks.

Yeah, discussing anything from the books isn't allowed her mate. Just the TV (for lazy people like me who can't be bothered to read it  )

Sansa may be needing Brienne after all...

Yeah, she has to redeem herself for killing the hound too. Also if she is determined to kill Stannis, can she do it after he has taken back Winterfell off the Boltons

Also I quite enjoyed this episode but we're still setting the scene though for a few story lines, while this time last season we already had the purple wedding

not a spoiler if you have watched episode 3, but just in case.....

I'm assuming (guessing) that Jon Snow is gonna head to

winterfell just in time to stop Bolton marrying Sansa, and destroying the house of Bolton in the process to retake Winterfell and his place as the King Of The North.

not a spoiler at all, just a fairly ill educated guess as a tv watcher. I dont wish for any input from book readers.

As a book reader, what happens there is anyone's guess. Some fair deviations already and we're only 3 episodes in.

Yep, pretty slow episode but some cracking lines in it, loved the bits about being to early for wine and rubbing a dwarf's head.

It felt a bit like some of the slower episodes in The Walking Dead. Sometimes they just need to slow stuff down a bit to set up the action in the following episodes.

I didnt find it slow at all, I thought it was paced perfectly, TWD drags in a very special way all of its own. I stopped TWD halfway through the last season, and dont miss it at all, and funnily enough my missus (who still watches) hasnt said to me "you should give it another go".

Game of Thrones is telling a bunch of stories so vast, it needs some space, it needs to develop, and when it kicks off, it usually kicks off bigtime. I also like the way shit happens when you least expect it, ie the red wedding - didnt see that coming at all. whereas in TWD you knew what was coming and that it was coming in episode 8 and 16.

At no point has Thrones slowed noticeably for me to the point that Im saying "come on!" or "Im bored of this"...........

TWD on the other hand has some really really shit episodes that are utterly boring and I still dont know why I continue to watch it, but I am that sort of guy who begins to watch something, gets suckered in, realises its shit, but has started and so I will finish............

Id still never let a episode of GOT slip by, whereas with TWD I could goes weeks without even noticing I have not caught up. (but I will catch up............and I will hate myself for it)

be strong!

I dumped TWD halfway through the last season

Dumped Dexter with 1 episode to go, after dumping it and returning a few times, but I still refuse to watch the finale, and my missus said "you didnt miss much"

dumped Lost halfway through season 3

dumped heroes 3 episodes into season 2

I think you have to be ruthless with TV now, as there's so much of it. If you've lost interest, then the ending is only really going to disappoint (though don't think I could do it with one episode to go - your wife is right mind!)

I dump Boardwalk after S2 and TWD in S2 too. Originally dumped BB after a few episodes and am so glad that I came back to it.

Boardwalk makes a comeback however. Unfortunately for the makers it was too late viewership wise and the money men hacked it and made the last season really short. But I really enjoyed it in the end.

I always hear of folk dropping BB early as well. Its mad how some people dont take to somethings and when they become ubiquitous return to them and enjoy them. The Mrs didnt take to the Wire at first either...........madness

I know what exactly you mean, I am one of those, I've watched some utterly terrible TV and Films just because I've caught a bit of it and need to know how the story turns out, even if it is bloody terrible.

Anyway, though Episode 3 was great, didn't go in any direction I thought it was going. Wasn't expecting Sansa to be married off to Ramsay and Jon Snow being all bad ass was great. Really thought he was going show mercy to Janos!

Arya Stark wasn't super intresting this week but I did love her shouting "c**t" to that other girl, just needed set up mainly I guess.

They did seem to rush the wedding, I guess we have seen the ceremonies before and if nothing much happens during it.

The "Dragon Queen" prositutes were great to  Poor Tyrion.
