He smacks Sansa one and forces her gaze on the orders of Joff so as she has to look at Neds Dead Head on a stick. Wasn't Aryra present for such in the crowd? I think?..............

ta

He was the one that led the other guard when Syrio (dancing teacher) was attacked and killed. Not sure Arya knows some of the other reasons given.

and ta.

Next week's episode is looking like it's going to be a cracker.

What do you all think Jorah's role is going to be in this series. He was one of my preferred characters previously. Is he going to come good? or die soon?

I reckon his storyline will overtake the books and he'll get Tyrion to Dany, then maybe she'll punish him for defying her exile. Maybe dragon toast.

Stannis has the honour of Ned Stark

Ned Stark wouldn't have burnt men alive for not abandoning their ancient religions to follow his new fad motivated by the foreign totty he's currently nailing behind his wife's back.

And if he was to face his brother in battle, he'd have done so in battle. He wouldn't have sent assassins after his brother any more than he'd send them after Targaryen children.

Certainly Stannis thinks he's as honourable as Ned Stark, when it's easy to do so, but when push-comes-to-shove he is a coward and a bully.

To be fair he was the first up the siege ladders at King's Landing.

Great episode! Really loved it and it did give Stannis the characterisation he needed (but he was my favourite out of the three candidates anyway). Also loving the story with the faith militant so far and I'm really intrigued by it but I can't handle both Ser Barristan and Grey Worm dying, they were both my favourite characters in Dany story so if one of them could make it that be great.

I love that we can disagree so strongly about fictional characters, mark of the quality of the work.

It's a fair point about his having been so easily swayed by Smelly Sandra and succumbed to her wiles. I guess the only person truly with the honour of Ned Stark is Jon Snow.

Was the Faith Militant thing all set up by Cersei to rid herself of the Tyrells? I'm looking forward to granny Tyrell making a reappearance

It would appear so, but I see Cersei as far more complex a schemer than that - I reckon her (actual) plan is probably much further down the road.
