gary1979666
What ep number was it last night? As I watched the first 4 when then leaked Was 4 on Mon, so make sure you watch next week.
viberunner
Watching all 4 leaked (getting increasingly drunk) didn't harm as much as I worried... it has still been good catching up on them on 1080p.
Spindles
Yeah, my son and I made a night of it with the leaks. I've still watched a HD version every week and enjoyed it. Can't wait for this week's episode.
LondonTom
Its all I could think about when the Sparrows went on their religious rampage! Good episode, lot of unexpected stuff in there! Good on Jon Snurr for resisting but I wonder if that might mean she was/controlling Ygritte all along as part of some grand plan? Maybe just talking to the dead though. I know the Unsullied were caught by surprise, but they was mostly bloody useless weren't they?! Good to see a bit of slaughter though, feels like a while since we've had one Kind of sad we got to Ser Barristan kick ass and then he dies, really thought he was going live! Agreed about Stannis being likeable all of sudden, glad they gave him some depth and more reasoning behind his actions. I reckon that Grey Worm will survive, as if both of them peg it, then there's only Daario and the Hollyoaks girl left advising Dany. Ah I've been wondering where I recognized her from! "Troops". Onion smugglers and men more at home going to battle 5-to-1 against spice merchants. Han Solo would kick their arse.

russycarps
I was reading some fan sites yesterday and some if the nerds made some good points. All along we've been told the unsullied are the elite of the elite troops and they appeared to have no clue what to do in battle. Pretty pathetic, especially as they had shields and armour and the harpys had no armour and just small swords. And all along we've been told the old dude is the best fighter ever to have lived and he gets killed by these jokers? They aren't even proper soldiers.... I know they were outnumbered but do you think 40 efestivalers armed with knives would beat 10 unarmed sas soldiers in a fight....?

LondonTom
I know they were outnumbered but do you think 40 efestivalers armed with knives would beat 10 unarmed sas soldiers in a fight....? Depends on the amount of drugs they had taken? Yeah it bothered me to, made sense with the first few and when it was one or two unsullied on their own but the main fight, they didn't seem to put up much resistance. Yes I do feel pretty fearless at times at glastonbury I must admit... The problem with this scene is that in my mind dany is much weaker than I thought before. It looks like stannis's army would make mincemeat of the unsullied, where previously she's been hyped up to be an unstoppable force. Next week Tyrion will probably kill one of her dragons in a mud wrestling match or summat..
t8yman
Dany is naive, not weak. She is learning the hard way that leaders cannot necessarily lead by doing the "right" thing every time. She misjudged beheading the guy last week, and has misjudged her position on the fighting pits, which she will have to change her mind on in order to keep the peace. Yeah as an individual I agree. but her army is weak. The unstoppable unsullied are in fact a load of pussies who can be killed by untrained civilians in fancy dress. Spindles
What ever happened to the Brotherhood without banners Oh, I'm sure they'll be back. They are characters who, like Stannis, are only mentioned in passing in the first couple of books so what we have seen so far has been just detail to flesh out their existence. There's no way that, with them being so linked to the lord of light that we wouldn't be seeing more of them as clearly that is going to be an important part of the story as things progress. Which reminds me, we know from proof that the lord of light IS the one true god, so does that make Smelly Sandra one of the good guys? viberunner
Kind of sad we got to Ser Barristan kick ass and then he dies, really thought he was going live! Watch it again. He is badly wounded and unconscious, but Grey Worm's last act before fainting was to prevent a Harpy from slitting his throat. JRRM isn't done with Heroic Old White Men just yet. I know they were outnumbered but do you think 40 efestivalers armed with knives would beat 10 unarmed sas soldiers in a fight....? That's if the Harpies are singularly dilettantes. But if they're like the Westeros elites many of them will be highly skilled fighters, and I suspect some of them are disenfranchised Freemen with Gladiatorial training upset they're not being allowed into the fighting pits that day. Which reminds me, we know from proof that the lord of light IS the one true god, so does that make Smelly Sandra one of the good guys? I've watched every episode multiple times. What you're talking about didn't happen. A transdimensional entity appearing before mortals with some really impressive magic tricks (especially ones best fuelled by lynching-by-fire, castrating kids, etc.) might claim to be The One True Lord of Light, but that's making the huge assumption that it isn't a demon on the fib. Indeed, multiple times at that. No one apparently more surprised than the red priest himself. Fair comment that power doesn't mean goodness though. viberunner
but that guy from the brotherhood without banners pretty much rose from the dead after the Hound beat him in a fight - was that not the Lord of Light's doing? In the GOT universe R'hllor aka the Fire God aka the Red God aka the Lord of Fire and Shadow aka the Lord of Light, the priests of R'hllor had their magic fade when the last of the Targaryen dragons died. The necromancy (to give death magic it's technical AD&D term) powers of Thoros of Myr happened after Daenerys' dragons were born. That doesn't sound like One True God stuff to me, though the cult is based on a blend of Zoroastrianism and Catharism.
Spindles
I'm pretty sure there are other things which have started happening again since the birth of the dragons, such as it suddenly becoming easier to make effective wildfire.

It has Freemason iconography on it. You can see Masonic iconography throughout Scotland, of course, but what I found interesting when I was in California for a couple of weeks is just how much of it there is out there too. All quite open
