I can understand it, felt like that at the end of the last series. Maybe absence has made me forget how tedious it was watching Daenerys, Arya and Bran very slowly make their way from A to B, if it's still like that in several weeks then I can imagine feeling the same again.

I can understand that too, although I feel like a little emotional attachment to lots of stories makes up for a lack of emotional attachment to one big plot line. That's why Walking Dead bores me shitless most of the time because I don't really care about any of them!

Ah, ok. its not just me then.

Yes! Can Arya and the hound actually get somewhere interesting? Can Danaerys stop pissing about and lay the smack down with her dragons? I don't think even Bran remembers where he's supposed to be going any more and where the fuck is this winter everyone said was coming 3 series ago!?

And what's happened with the White Walkers? Wasn't Sam cowering from them as they marched South at the end of the last series, and yet he's made it back to Castle Black and fannied around for a couple of episodes and they're nowhere to be seen.

I'm sure I have read somewhere that said its going to take them like 7/8 seasons to do the whole thing, as the story by George RR Martin wants to be told (as he's told the TV creators what the ending is). So we're only like half way through the TV series, got to give characters time!

And what's happened with the White Walkers?

Exactly! One was very much under the impression at the end of the last series that the While Walker shit was going to hit the fan imminently and now nothing. In fact the crows are talking of heading north again to take care of the break aways, as they fear the wildlings. Obviously no one listens to Sam, not even the sage old blind man who "knows it all"

I imagine Jon Snow will meet them next week when he goes back to Craster's Keep (It was only the one White Walker that found Sam wasn't it?).

I think it needs something to indicate the passage of time for each location. Some seem to be moving quicker than others :P

i realise this, but we're 33 hours into it now. That's quite a lot of time.

What has Daenerys done it that time? Got some dragons and some buddies and walked around a lot

But when you think about how far characters have come, Arya was in Kings Landing, was a servant, tried to meet up with her mum at a wedding and is now trying to get to her aunt. That's quite a lot in three and a bit seasons. Also when you have a look at the interactive map and see how much distance Dany has traveled, looking for ships and an army, it seems to make sense why its taken her this long to actually get her army in a bit of shape.

Plus there are a lot of stories to tell, we don't see every character in every episode. So you have to allow time for things to develop

They shouldn't be projecting the concept of huge time-scales and distances onto the viewer by literally making them sit through it. That's just dull.

Anyway, my point is, after 33 episodes there's barely a character or story line that I care about and with the exception of what is happening in King's Landing, the other plots are drifting along aimlessly and tediously. If its accurate to the books then either the books are dull, or they've attached too much screen time to each book, or - as I suspect - its a combination of the two.

I think the scene were he killed one there was only one, I'm thinking of the scene that I thought was in the last series (but I think was actually at the end of the second) where a fleet of them are marching towards something and Sam is cowering behind a rock, and one of them turns and looks at him. Found it odd that they should be in the same place but then Sam makes it back to the Wall and the White Walkers are nowhere to be seen, but I guess maybe they're just randomly wandering around North of the wall and aren't actually heading South. Maybe they're still just milling around up there, another group aimlessly wandering.

I don't get the feeling the other stories are heading nowhere, they're just very much moving at their own pace. Like with Arya and the Hound - I'm quite enjoying their journey and wondering where they'll end up, I'm not desperate for them to get there yet

Ah yes, I know which scene you mean now.

Yeah they seemed to have taken a breather, maybe they are working out how to get past the wall? :P
