It will 100% be due to the BBCs need to televise and know the setlist in advance. In 2009 the compromise seemed to be that they were allowed to show just a few songs - it did feel they were more of a "peek" into the magic, rather than something scheduled.

I’d suggest the coverage would be nothing like as extensive as the bbc . For all its faults and some of those being political and board appointed the bbc absolutely provides unrivalled coverage and the likes of some political parties would love to see it broken up .
