Andre91
A place to post all things World Cup, separate from the football thread as the Premier League debates will no doubt rage on long into the summer
The Nal
Spain! Really looking forward to this World Cup. Really strong teams all round. Edited May 16, 2014 by The Nal
Andre91
I'm going for Argentina! Just imagine the reaction of the Brazilian public if the old enemy won the World Cup at their tournament. Spain are, as always, a great shout. They just seem to have a never ending pool of talent.

ThomThomDrum
Spain 7/1 Have to be good odds? I know history is not on the side of a European team doing it in South American, but they must be better than 7/1, no?
ThomThomDrum
It will be very interesting to see if Belgium can step up. Id like to see them play some nice ball with some of the players they posses
Andre91
Spains midfield. Unbelievable what they have to choose from. Xavi, Iniesta, Alonso, Silva, Navas, Mata, Thiago, Fabregas, Busquets, Cazorla..............

ThomThomDrum
The thing is Group C isn't very strong, so if we could make it out of our group then I think we'd have a reasonabe chance of getting through the next round.

Gucci Piggy
Didn't realise how strong France's squad was right now. A front three of Ribery, Benzema and Griezmann? Jesus. Anyway, Brazil to win it. A predictable last four of Brazil, Spain, Germany and Argentina. Messi top goalscorer. And England to go out in the group stage. The Nal
Messi really needs to step it up in this world cup.
dentalplan
France's squad is strong every tournament all the time. It's just about controlling that team.

WS_Jack_III
It's going to be really, really depressing because England won't win a game. Plus i'll have to listen to idiots singing "10 German Bombers."
Jackmypie
Love it, probably on par with Glasto as my favourite event. Wish I was going this year but I didn't have enough sheckels. Brazil is a beautiful country.. shame the next one is in Russia. I'm not sure if I fancy going there tbh. Anyway, I think either Spain or Argentina will nick it this year. thetime
Argentina for me, messi having a stop start season may work in there favour. I can't see a European side getting to the final. If they avoid each other until the final, I can't see past Argentina v Brazil.

pink_triangle
World cup winning sides are generally built on solid defences. I think both Argentina and Uruguay fail here
