Jackmypie
Argentina vs iran or brazil vs croatia Which brings us neatly to the tournament opening. For me Croatia have always been pretty solid. However I think they could be wel/ beaten if brazil come out of the blocks and score early

LondonTom
I am quite excited, but it doesn't really seemed to have gripped the country like it usuually does (Not just the England stuff). Even Pubs and that seem a bit meh on it around the city....or maybe I am comparing it to the excitement we had in 2012 in London, so it feels a bit meh I dunno it just seems odd this year. pink_triangle
Bring it on.............I really hope this World Cup is chock full of crazy happenings and surprises! Resulting in the likes of a Belgium V Holland final that no one saw coming! I also hope the peno shoot out does not raise its head too often
Essex_George
It's starting to get there for me now, looking forward to tonights game. The first world cup I really remember was 1990, opening game was great with Cameroon beating Argentina. Thinking there might be an upset tonight, Croatia to win 1-0. Essex_George
I don't think Brazil have lost a competitive home game for 50+ years.
pink_triangle
Stats like that though are always pointless really. The level of challenge they face during their World Cup qualification campaigns are much reduced compared to the teams in Europe. They only teams they would of played competitive football against on home soil outside of the qualification process would of been at the 1950 World Cup. Not saying it isn't an impressive fact but just saying it doesn't say much about the World Cup about to come.
lost
Not working now until after the quarter finals so really looking forward to this. Only thing spoiling it is the lack of pubs around here for the midweek 11pm kickoffs . I'm still wondering about the possibility of booking a cheap last minute deal to watch some matches in a more favourable timezone but I've probably left it too late now. Essex_George
1990 is a long time ago at this stage but if memory serves me right that was a shit game of football. The result was very interesting but the 90 minutes of ball was cack
ThomThomDrum
We have a sweepstakes prize for most goals conceded so people who got the likes of Honduras still have an interest
ThomThomDrum
Was it? In my head it was a great game, or maybe that was just the result. Was long time ago though. I got Germany in my office sweepstake, better chance than Japan but don't think I will win the big prize.
