Ill leave it there too so. But just wanted to say im not actually slagging Hodgsons speech impediment. I also call Wayne Rooney Wooney and as far as I know he does not have a speech impediment. It comes more from a place of a football fan showing a silly level of disrespect for players/managers who dont play or manage a team he follows and in the case of Woy its a legacy thing from when he was a shit manager at Liverpool and the use of Woy made him sound as stupid and his management style. No matter a team's level compared to other teams, and no matter what system (leagues, cups, fifa rankings, anything else) is used to put them in those positions, football ends up throwing up wacky results.

And every system ever used to ranking teams (leagues, cups, fifa rankings, anything else) is only ever a system based on past results. That means if teams get stronger or weaker, they'll cause results out of step with their ranking (whatever system is used to rank them), and cause their ranking to change.

I don't know why people obsess over the FIFA rankings that much. It's a flawed system but no system is going to accurately reflect what people want it to reflect. A team being ranked higher doesn't necessarily make them better than lower ranked teams, just as a team going through to the next stage of the World Cup doesn't necessarily make them a better team than one who didn't. I find it better to dismiss it altogether and just go by what I can see or recent results.

B&H were very unlucky in the end. Good goal disallowed and hit the post in the last seconds. Fair play to Nigeria. Played a great game. It was a very entertaining match.

This WC really is a cracker. Going to Glastonbury on Monday and then traveling with work up till the final thereafter meaning I will see fuck all of the rest of the games most likely...............shame. I have really enjoyed so much of it thus far.

It's tough on Bosnia that them going out in the group stage of their first tournament is seen as a bit of a shock but I'm really surprised it's gone that way. But the surprises keep coming and we could easily see Portugal exit tomorrow night.

Bosnia were unlucky in the first game but I don't think they particularity deserved to win last night, and Dzeko may have hit the post in the last minute but that's only because handled to bring the ball down to start with. Nigeria looked dangerous on the break all game.

The rankings are pretty much useless in every way. Only proper competitive games tell you anything of use about a side.

so every manager - even the 'rated' ones like Postman Pat - didn't know they were wasting their time with friendlies, because they can't tell anyone anything of use about a side?

It's a good job there's Barry Fish to put these numpties right.

The rankings are as useless as a team's Premier League position.

In both instances, whether or not the model used that causes a team to be in a particular position is a good model or not is open to interpretation.

Teams used to think that 2 points for a win was a good model, now they seem to think 3 points for a win is a better model. People have different opinions on what model should be used for FIFA rankings.

But only the very very stupid think there's nothing that can be used from friendlies, because that data that has some relevance.

I reckon his been dealt a bad card this World Cup and there are glimpses of hope. Back when it was drawn before I let my heart rule my brain I really didn't think we would get any points and I do think while England weren't great, they didn't really deserve to lose both matches.
