Empty words. If he was truly sorry he'd have apologised straight away, not lied to try and avoid a ban and then waited to see what the aftermath would be. He's apologised because he (and his advisors) have decided it's the best course of action for damage limitation.

He is a c**t, and its nice to see LFC fans start admitting that now that it appears he is turning his back on them, the fact that he never mentioned LFC in his "apology" adds further insult to injury - which is definitely a calculated decision to piss the club off that have stood by him through thick and thin.

He has been exposed as the child he really is over this whole debacle, and the way the Uruguayan footballing authorities and even the country's president have behaved is equally as embarrassing, made even worse by the c**ts climbdown.

If he had come out after the game and said "I'm sorry, the red mist came over me, I dont know what I was thinking and I apologise unreservedly" I doubt the ban he received would have been anywhere near as harsh. But he chose to try and lie, cheat and bullshit his way out of it, and FIFA rightly put their foot down.

LFC should have sacked him for gross misconduct, and sued him for breach of contract for the £80 million he was supposedly worth.

Yeah as soon as it happened I'd have had some people on the next plane over to try and stop Suarez/Uruguay making some monumental cock-ups with their reaction.

Anyway yes was a good game last night, Germany have looked sluggish since beating Portugal. The Algerian keeper kept them in the game at times but they also have a legitimate claim that they could have won the game themslves. The quarter-final will be a good match, a classic French flair vs German determination clash like the 80's.

Argentina have been very disappointing in this world cup considering the talent at their disposal, I suspect they would have lost if it had gone to a shootout. However in the past they have looked great in the groups and done nothing in the knockouts, so maybe its a good sign!
