I actually went to see Beady Eye over MCR at Leeds in 2011, and remember enjoying it. I bought that first album and thought, for an album of 60s and 70s rock pastiches made by a group of dads who had written some utter rotters in the past, it was very entertaining for a couple of spins. Enjoyed seeing Liam's swagger and exaggerated snarl performing a bunch of songs inspired by the music he loved as a teenager, I thought he was a funny bloke.

The last time round though, he was God-awful. In every way. It's amazing the difference between being in a crowd full of boozed up Mancs and post-Oasis goodwill can do versus a crowd of bemused, hungover Glastonbury punters half-expecting Daft Punk on a cloudy Friday morning.

I'm pretty sure Metallica have died in relevancy bar those who remember their songs from 1991, but there'll be more than enough of those at the all-age Glastonbury festival who do so it surely doesn't matter at all :sarcastic:

I'm not even a fan but if a band can generate this kind of atmosphere halfway through a Radio 1 festival like T In The Park then frankly they can more than do so when the good people of Glastonbury are on the high that comes with the beginning of the best weekend of their year :P

See I think the opposite? Surely a band who turns up announced is already guaranteeing themselves being discussed again and again over the weekend, and if the BBC cameras are there well we know how good Zane Lowe and Lauren Laverne are for hyping up the highlights reels on their Sunday night coverage..

If I never hear "why does it always rain on me " again it will be too soon. Radio murdered that song then gave it a good flogging.

I can still remember the shitty job I was doing at the time listening to that song be played about 50 times a day.

so I'll be hoping it most definitely isn't Travis. Sorry.

Still keeping everything crossed and hoping with all my hope that its the Foo's.
