Metallica....in the Mosh, will there be a mosh, not in the mosh?

All these people whining about moshers invading their personal space etc would probably not say a word if it was dance fans jumping around in front of them blockign their view.....people dancing when theyre not in the mood etc etc theyd simply move without any issues,,,,,,,,,so why the `attitude` when it comes to metal fans and moshpits? not that it bothers me I dont need your permission to do what I wish to to any band I wish to....ill look after myself and make sure not to irritate those around me. thats all anyone can do isnt it?

I'm against any anti social behaviour in a crowd that ruins it for other people. I wasn't kidding when I said I thought moshers were exactly the same as the flag and chair and blanket brigade.

Said so earlier, but was at a gig last week wanted to dance and jump around a bit, but the crowd was tightly packed, and there were quite a few older and small people around me. It was obvious that doing that would ruin things for them. So I just decided not to. It wasn't the way I wanted to enjoy the band, but it was still a fun gig, and those other people had a fun gig also. That's the difference between you and I. I'll make a call based on the situation around me and what is appropriate. You'll do whatever you want to do because you think you have the right to. And as long as you don't hurt anyone, you absolutely do have that right. Still makes you a dick though.

why do you get the most crowd reaction in ANY genre of music closer to the stage? loudness? intensity?

The way the Pyramid system works, it's not that loud or intense front centre. You need to be off to the side or further back. What are the odds you totally ignore this?

it's up to the typical Glastonbury go-er to understand it may happen there too, and accomodate it by moving back if they don't wish to take part in it.

Again, have you ever been at the front for a pyramid headliner? You can't have been, or the idea that people can move anywhere except over the barrier and out would be ridiculous to you.

You're probably right... I thought your lower limit was 100 posts! :)

But even after 500, there's no knowing a person's history, their psychology or whatever. Light hearted banter to one person looks like bullying to another.

100 posts = you can call someone a tit/throbber

500 posts = pedo

1000 posts = tory

You're right though, ultimately we dont know each other and some of the badtaste stuff should be off-limits I guess.

Shove it up your bollocks, Russy you nobber.

why I oughta....!

Sorry, comparing a subculture of decent people to paedophiles is a really c**tish thing to do.

He didn't. He compared your victim complex to that of some fictional characters on a comedy tv show. That they happened to be paedophiles wasn't relevant. It's the similar responses that were.

I and everybody else says could be wasted time on here, but if it does then be aware of it and take care of yourself by moving away from it.

And if there is no space to move away, like in say, a Glasto pyramid headliner, what then? Self defence to assault from reckless endangerment is legally a thing.

hey I just mentioned anti flag, as they hadnt been noticed yet and they attract a lot more of the kind of pits people seem to `fear` then metallica traditinally would, you get all the hardcore punk kids, windmills, walls of death etc etc or though i doubt we`ll be seeing that at glasto.,.....it still has a potential to be an energetic crowd :)

Are windmills people who swing their fists about, like windmilling in a fight?

Or have i totally got the wrong end of the stick?

Probably not at Leftfield anyway, it's not a big stage - it's a tent with two huge pillars in the middle near the front that you would not want to risk getting smacked in to.

Interesting that they're closing Leftfield, do they know any Clash?
