DeanoL
In fact quite frankly I'm appaled and expected more out of these forums, for a group of so called 'liberals' a lot of you certainly seem very judgmental and disrespectful of others Indeed, in many ways we're almost as bad as the moshers! neilloggie
Or they're stuck in the 80s, because to be quite honest with you when I think mosher I don't think 'anti-social nerd with long greasy hair, spotty pale skin and foul odor' That's my perfect description of a mosher, but then again i am stuck in the 80's. CaledonianGonzo
this to a tee, thank many of those posting in this thread arent representitive of people in general at this festival, so many stereotypes, exaggerations and attempts to slander thrown around from all these Spreading a lot of hatred around for ``open minded liberal` glasto goers.` well i guess you dont fit that particular stereotype either, shame its a positive one eh Sorry, but I find that your close-minded, illiberal reaction to me mocking people who mosh is totally at odds with the Glastonbury spirit. If you're so intolerant, hidebound and preoccupied with your own perspective that you can't even countenance a viewpoint that's even slightly different from your own then I'd question if Glastonbury is the right festival for you. Liberalism is accepting people have the right to do what they want, so long as it doesn't infinge on someone else's equal right. Everyone's paid the same to go to Glastonbury and most people there will be pretty pissed at some lary twats knocking into them while theyre trying to watch a band. Why is one person's enjoyment worth more than another's?

Everyone's paid the same to go to Glastonbury and most people there will be pretty pissed at some lary twats knocking into them while theyre trying to watch a band. Why is one person's enjoyment worth more than another's? If they are watching Metallica, the chances are they know what to expect. You might have 20-30 people mosh for 1 or two tunes - compared to the tens of thousands who will be enjoying the show without moshing. If you don't like crowds or getting bumped - what are you doing at a festival? Go watch Cliff Richard where you can get yourself a nice comfy seat! The fact that a lot of you seem to think this is going to be a massive deal just displays a lot of ignorance. Then there's those that clearly have nothing better than to troll the internet. If it's not bashing the metallers, it's bashing the ravers. If it's not the ravers, it the Scousers. If it' not the Scousers... etc ad infinitum. Shame - all the negativity bringing down these boards.

Yup - I'll happily mock anyone in a position of power, authority, influence or in posession of ill-gotten wealth. I'll also mock hyporcrites, governments, corporations, frauds, homeopaths, Republicans, Tories, dictators, oppressive regimes, Orange Walkers or anyone else I feel that deserves it. I'm aware that it's unfair on moshers to bundle them in with the likes of Robert Mugabe when all they do is like to bounce up and down to metal music, but if you're gonna bounce up and down to metal music then someone is always going to be there with a satirical quip. Go watch Cliff Richard where you can get yourself a nice comfy seat! I love crowds. I don't love getting elbowed in the face. Metal festivals go hand in hand with moshing. If you go to Download, you can't complain when people start moshing. But this is Glastonbury, so I will. And you can't just go accusing people of being Cliff Richard fans. Very low. A lot of people here aren't mocking people who go in moshpits with foundation though, they go 'thats a stereotype and I'm going to roll with it' it's not like it's at all justified people are just doing it because they have this image of what a mosher is. Not focusing on the individual people are passing judgement of others solely on a stereotype.

The Nal
I would happily mosh my heart out to Scotch On the Socks by The Shadows - it's an evergreen pop belter. Yeah they went all Manfred Mann/Byrds for a while. Proper tune. Or did Manfred Mann and The Byrds go all Shadows? Belter is right though. You could even windmill to that. The head or fist version. Of course your allowed an opinion but many in this thread go far beyond that, theres a difference between having a `viewpoint`, and delibratly setting out to slander, stereotype and exaggerate things to create hate towards people just because you dont enjoy doing what they enjoy.......... that is the very anithesis of facism in fact, ( I dont do it and I dont like it so anyone who does it is `pick whichever stupid insulting stereotype you want`) oh how liberal you all are eh? your shtting on peoples freedom of expression, your using lies, exaggerations and stereotypes(and you fucking know it) to encourage other people to shit on it and then you have the nerve to turn round and act like those of us challenging you for doing that are the ones in the wrong......laughable really. Swear "you" are some sort of oppressed minority ethnic group! As for fascism, most of "we" dont want "you" lot moshing. Because we don't enjoy what you do. Yet you'll do it anyway. Do it down the back. No issue there. Ill shut up then. Deal? Cliff's cock been airbrushed out of that picture? More the Reading-style 'lads' that have heard of moshing and decide to basicly start fighting each other, in the least appropriate concerts, without a single care for anyone around them.
