How is planning going on this project?

Due to work (was in Dublin for 5 weeks), I only collected the van on Thursday and drove it up the road.

Spent yesterday cleaning all the tree sap etc off it as it had been sitting under trees for the last 4-5 month.

Took a lot of TFR and elbow grease, but it's came up good and will do for now :)

As well as 11 seats to sell, I have also got with it a load of Unwin Quattro wheelchair restraints, along with the track which I will remove and sell too as seems to get decent money on eBay :)

That really is some cleaning job Paul. It totally transforms the vehicle.

I had a Ford Sierra that I left for months under the trees at my folks house. I'd got another car and hadn't got around to getting rid of the Sierra, which was still fully taxed and road worthy. It had just had it's day really and nobody would have bought it off me. Anyway, I was doing up a house at the time and needed to shift a load of top soil. I knew I needed a skip but didn't want to pay for one. Then I had a brain wave. I went and collected the Sierra (which was in a far worse state than your van was) drove it to my new house, opened it's doors and boot and just started shoveling soil into it. I filled the boot, the back seat area, and the front passenger seat. I then threw the shovel in and drove the local council tip. On the way there I stopped at a junction and heard this kid who was a passenger on his mates bicycle scream out that his mate should look at the fucking state of that car. Anyway, I did a few trips to the tip in that car with soil. It did the job, saved me the price of a skip, and then got sold for scrap.

I've got a Transit LWB conversion campervan. I would echo Neil's advice about the wet room for definite and maybe the toilet (although you say that you may need this because of your job). We may take the toilet out of ours because it's just in the way and of little use and would give us greater space to operate within.

I can't give you any advice on planning but suspect there's specialist sites and forums for this kind of thing. Not sure if it will help at all but here's some photos of our campervan - see below. It has a fixed double bed (with storage underneath), kitchen, toilet and storage above the front cabin. The upside of the fixed double bed is that it's extremely comfortable to sleep on. The downside is that it leaves no room for a lounge type area. This means that you have to lie and sit on the bed when it's raining outside and you can't use camp seats outside. I'm thinking of getting an awning for the van so that we can overcome this issue during the day.

Layout's are all subjective, your's is definitely unique, and i can understand why you bought it.

Where is the toilet btw?

Where is the toilet btw?

It's to the right hand side of the passenger door as you look at the relevant photos. You can't see it because it's got veneered chipboard covering it. What you can see is the white plastic covered drawer unit which contains the waste. That's it at the bottom next to the step in to the rear living area of the camper van.

The stuff I am selling is going well, better than I planned.

Made £300 back already, and still got a lot left.. considering I paid £750 for the van, I might break even or even better turn a profit out of it :)

That's pretty good going. All helps with the project itself

Yeah it's getting put aside for that :)

[shameless plug] Items Here [/shameless plug]

Also still to take out the tracks that the clamps go on to, theres a shit load in there plus take the hydrolic wheelchair ramp/lift out)

You paid £750 for it and it's only got 11,990 on the clock, with a full service history! It'd be just great if you could make another £450 from the internal bits and bobs. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I've got a few bits and pieces that will probably be useful for you Paul - tho right now I've not made a final decision if i'm going to use them myself or not. But i probably won't, and if i don't you can have them.

What they are are the bits (or just some of the bits, depending how far you take things) for a leisure battery system - the widgets that go between the two batteries, and the regulator to ensure you don't flatten your main battery.

Give me a shout when you're close to doing those parts and I'll have made a decision over whether I want them still or not.

No worries Neil, thanks for that offer anyway whatever way you decide :)

Ok so am eventually home now as of Monday past, though not had much of a chance to do anything though as still recovering!

What I have done is empty the van of all the seats, spare parts etc (apart from 1 stubborn bugger) and this gives me a better idea of the space I have to play with.

I have also gathered some old caravan parts that I may or may not use (depends if they work too) and got all these out the bus and my shed and my back garden is like a caravan breakers yard in this pic!

Next job will be to lift all (or most of) the Unwin tracking on the floor and then flog the other parts I still have.. still got a few seats and the wheelchair lift has to come off too!

Hey Neil, if you don't keep the battery thing ,and don't find a home for it, i'd be interested in it.

I could pay, or even offer something in exchange.

Thanks for the update Paul, and good luck with fishing out that last chair.
