thejimbola
Oh wait... Clashing with Slipknot and Black Stone Cherry.
Chavmeisterdeluxe
Downloads biggest problem is them putting bands on the 3rd stage that should really be beefing up the main stage.
Chavmeisterdeluxe
Oh shit that's 4th stage and fightstar are 3rd, even stupider placing.
atomised
I've just glanced at the poster. About 10 bands on the 2 main stages across the weekend I'd want to see and more than half of those on the Saturday. I think if I go at all it will be a Saturday day ticket. thejimbola
I think Saturday is by far the weakest day. Mainly because all the best bands are clashing later in the day and the start is pretty weak. Sunday has clashes virtually all day for me. Friday is similar although not quite as bad. Blackberry Smoke will probably clash with Priest which sucks.
lightning1000
Fightstar is actually a good booking on 3rd. Probably ser them instead.
thejimbola
Fightstar is actually a good booking on 3rd. Probably ser them instead. They are my 4th choice of the 4 Friday headline bands clashing, but would probably watch them if they were early main stage.
Chavmeisterdeluxe
Yep I'd quite happily see all 4 Friday, all 3 Saturday and both Sundays so far.

The60ftOctopus
Nice to see the day splits. Any idea how much day tickets will cost yet?
atomised
That'll be interesting to see with Reading and Leeds having slashed day ticket costs
SOAD
Loads of clashes this year but some great bands announced. Particular chuffed about Fightstar as had to miss their tour. Will be gutting not to see all of Slipknot but seen them this year and seen them twice prior... where as I've only seen Fightstar get an hour or more twice. Gutted about some of the clashes but just popped them all into a clashfinder and still looking like a great weekend. Looking like most of the Friday on the smaller stages except for Clutch, Judas Priest and last half of Slipknot. Saturday is mainly main despite some horrific clashes with the other stages. Sunday is split between second and main. http:///s/downloadfest2015 Edited February 25, 2015 by SOAD
Muppetmark
Nice to see the day splits. theramm
Wonder how busy it’ll be this year? People seem pretty down on the line-up but MUSE should pack it out on the Saturday.
PastCaring
What the f!!!!!!!!!! A teenybop band from the late 90s and an indie band fronted by a former member of Busted!!!!!!!!!!!!! At a metal Festival? You have GOT to be joking!!!!! I know that all festivals need to diversify, but this is ridiculous! Is this an attempt to draw in a new breed of younger female punter? I'm not just underwhelmed, I actually feel quite insulted! I'm not even going to discuss their placements on the bill, because that is just mindblowing! THE WORLD IS GOING CRAZY!!!!! luckysalt
Nothing announced that made me go I gotta see them! Oh well, its a very top heavy line up this year. Bought my ticket for Defeater, Crue, Priest, KISS [im yet to see all those acts and am dying to] and Main Stage Saturday. Worth the money but would like some better lower card. Wonder who the last 2 main stage acts for Friday are.
theramm
Someone on the DL forums said that this years is like 2010 when AC/DC took all the budget. MUSE must've cost a pretty penny!!

Wonder who the last 2 main stage acts for Friday are. Not seen any of those bands either... not that bothered about Kiss but the other three are some of the main reasons I want to go As far as the last two for main on Friday what do you reckon to Marmozets? Know they are doing Reading but would be odd not to see them at Download also. Although they could prob slot in below Mallory Knox also. Otherwise I have no idea on the lineup this year. There have been a fair few shocks. Edited February 25, 2015 by SOAD
lightning1000
Fightstar are definitely not indie.
Chavmeisterdeluxe
And it's not a metal fest.
SOAD
Dont feed it... Seems perfectly standard protocol that we have a fair few posts like that turn up every year. The fact that Fightstar are heavier than a lot of bands on the lineup and Download has always had a range of acts to offer never seems to matter. I Imagine they bid high for the classic acts to keep Soni away from them, effectively they took the big hitters from Soni stopping it going ahead, they've probably learnt they can have a weaker undercard and it probably doesn't effect sales too much cus no competition. Moey
Don't they have a shorter running order on the Friday, as the bands don't start til 2pm ?? The only one that made me thing 'I'll go and watch them' was Blackberry Smoke. My Friday and Sunday are pretty booked, Saturday looking a bit thin for me though - will have to discover some new bands to watch during the day. Suggestions ? devilman
Allusondrugs were decent the other day. Can't get excited about any of the bands on that announcement though. I've never heard of most of them I'll be checking them out though as it looks as if I'll be in the arena early each day because of bands I do want to see. Moey
Yes - mate of mine saw them in Sheffield a while ago (Allusondrugs) and reckoned they were decent. Might have to check them out.
