I'd be so down for seeing Faith No More again although I guess they wouldn't headline.

Download are usually decent at annoying (obviously I meant announcing) earlyish aren't they? Like around October/November for at least the first headliner...

No mention of Judas Priest, new album out and US tour starting October.

I would have thought they'd be ideal Download headliners.

Oh please no  - even Def Lep would be preferable to that!

So the Download forums seem to think Foos and GnR will play. I don't read the Download forums as the chances of me going next year are slim but is they any chance? Both of those bands would be expensive and with the AC/DC rumour about (if someone could give me an update on this I'd be very grateful) how could they afford it unless the rest of the line up is terrible

Thinking they'll play might not be accurate; after all it's just what someone's said with a lot of assumptions thrown in. You're right that AC/DC with those two would be pretty blockbuster and I don't know if they could manage it, plus I think Slipknot will be thrown in there somewhere.

Alright then, never understood the AC/DC rumour anyway after last time. But Slipknot are interesting, they did only play last year but they'd be popular and it be the first time they headlined a festival with new material since 2009 so that could be used to pull people in but there is going to be interest from Soni for them but Corey loves Download so I don't know really. Also I don't know about Foos at all

To conclude I don't know who will be headlining next year but when do we expect the announcement? I'm thinking sometime next month

Personally I don't ever want AC/DC there again after the way they carried off last time etc. But that's just my own personal view

I would however like the FOO's to be there. How realistic is this? I think it's a strong possibility really, Dave Grohl has played before and apparently was happy with the experience. However, are they more suited to Reading/Leeds? Hope not

Slipknot is highly likely for the reasons already stated.

So, as for the 3rd main stage headliner then I would go with Judas Priest and Motley Crue subbing.

Either headlining after playing lower last time would be terrible.

Outlandish but I wonder if they could swing this:

Slipknot. FNM subbing. Jane's Addiction on second stage.

Foos. Soundgarden subbing. Judas Priest on second stage.

GNR. Crüe subbing. You Me at Six or something on second stage.

Good shout, swap ymas for weezer and I'll take it.

do people really think Slipknot will be back despite only headlining two years ago (come the festival)? i know Download love their repeat bookings, and Corey loves the festival, but that'd be a bit much. surely Sonisphere will get 'em

also i've seen a couple of mentions of BFMV being possible headliners - really!? a few years ago they definitely seemed poised to step up, but then they released that latest album which just seemed to put an end to that (imo). maybe their next album will rejuvenate the interest, but i don't see it
