They're insane in the smaller venues, brilliant live act up close. I've never seen them outdoors but the footage always feels like somethings missing.

Can only speak for Latitude, but it brought a tear to my eye how well they stepped up to headline. I don't even particularly like the new album, but I loved the whole show. Only trouble was that it was wasted on the children in the crowd, every other time I've seen them play it was crowdsurfing central, I tried it then and got abruptly dropped after about a yard. I suppose they just don't teach it at private school.

There is no way Foals will be anywhere near to headlining for a few years.. I was surprised at them headlining Bestival even. And it's not even like they have an amazing live show to compensate for lack of size; I saw them at Reading and left after about half an hour.

Is someone suggesting Keane as a headliner any more ludicrous than people suggesting Florence and the Machine?

Nah Florence could sub now without question, Keane couldn't. I reckon she'll only headline if someone drops out but I think she'd do a good job if that happened.

I wish they were still playing Mathletics and Hummer! It was really weird last year watching the weird little indie band that made an album as offbeat as Antidotes headline Latitude, I just don't think I can reconcile those early memories with a band that will one day headline Glastonbury.

They've brought hummer back a few times, played it at ally pally this year

No idea if this has been mentioned already, but does anyone think that take that are a possibility, if not next year, in future years? They seem like the kind of slightly curveball band that they might surprise people with and are unquestionably big enough to headline.

If Beyonce can headline, I see no reason why Take That couldn't potentially headline.

I saw them at a Festival in Belgium and didn't really get it. Was really excited for them as everyone on here seems to rave about them, but didn't really work for me. I'd like to see them given a big slot though, to see if they can step up.

As for headliners, gotta be Fleetwood Mac I would have thought. Then anyone really, give Fairport Convention one night and Blue Man Group the other, shake it up a bit.

But more likely The Mac, Radiohead and the indie darlings of the year.

But I'd still like a change, test a few people's commitment (BBC included)

Then Iron Maiden the year after. Invite Bruce next year, he realises he's been an idiot, offers to play for free, makes a press statement to that effect and Mr Eavis books him on the spot.

Fairport Convention and Blue Man Group..? Why would they give smaller, niche acoustic acts the headline pyramid slot when they can play the Acoustic stage or Avalon to a more appreciative audience in a more intimate and suited enviroment.

Never going to happen...Never going to happen

I know it's never going to happen, but it'd be great to see something different, how long ago did Archaos play? 20 years or more, would be great to see something like that.

Metallica?

HA what a fool i am (and thinking back, there have been quite a few)

that said, Radiohead definitely aren't a band to want to headline with a greatest hits type set. whenever they do finally headline again, it'll be a set chock full of whatever new material they're promoting

I agree, and right now I can’t see it being ready for next year’s Glastonbury. I’d love an In Rainbows heavy set, though.

Edit: They could well have an album out/ready by then, actually. I somehow forgot it’s still a whole year away. Carry on.

yeah 2016 definitely seems more likely as it doesn't seem like they're very far in to the new album (although Radiohead did spring their last two albums on an unsuspecting public so who knows how hard at work they've actually been on this new one)

and yeah i agree that the In Rainbows material will be fantastic when it finally gets aired on the Pyramid. let's hope they're still fond of it by then and we get a lot of it

I'm not so sure. They did a greatest hits set at Reading on the In Rainbows tour. They know they have to tailor things to the crowd.
