Watched their T in the Park performance earlier. In summary, it was alright. Reminds me of Foo Fighters duller moments (of which there are a few).

I think of Foo Fighters as a much duller band. Biffy's earlier stuff (which unfortunately they hardly play now) is way ahead of anything Foo Fighters have ever done, musically.

The Captain's shite, yeah, as is Many of Horror, and Bubbles, and Mountains. Their other albums are great, though.

All of those are quite fun live though as the whole crowd gets behind them (I agree they're not amazing songs though).

One of the best moments I've ever had at a gig/festival was at Werchter last week where some guy went too hard for the majority of Biffy's set and ended up throwing up during Bubbles - he was on the floor with his legs out to the side just letting it all out but as soon as the chorus hit, he lifted his head and sang, then went back to throwing up! It was disgustingly beautiful haha!

I've not really heard it so I can't comment, but I've heard loads of other fans say the same thing. Is it fair to say they've done a Kings of Leon?

which is why they'd be an awful headliner now. i'd rather Foo Fighters play than the Biffy Foo Fighters Tribute Band

KOL always had an arena-grabbing sound about them. it was always apparent they were gonna go far. Biffy dropped everything interesting from their music to get to the top. i don't blame them for it, and don't even dislike some of it, but with each album it's becoming more apparent that it's here to stay and getting slightly worse

Yeah definitely. Although having seen both recently, Biffy are a much better live experience. Though I don't think it's been as dramatic a decline with Biffy; KOL were one of my favourite bands until Only by the Night, and now I don't really like them at all, whereas I still love Biffy, and Opposites was a huge improvement on Only Revolutions.

I remember seeing Biffy at Leeds Academy 2 years back and they played an incredible setlist inc. lots of old songs I never thought I'd hear such as Liberate the Illiterate, 27, Strung to Your Ribcage and Hope for an Angel. Seen them 3 times now and none of their other performances have come close to that for me, just find alot of the newer songs much duller live than the old apart from the crowd singing along to them.

Biffy's earlier stuff isn't even that good. It's just good compared to recent years. Like Kings of Leon I suppose.

Yeh I agree. Watched their set yesterday at T and I had to turn it off after seeing Many of horror followed by Woo Woo followed by Black Chandelier. Went back and listened to Blackened sky/vertigo today and I was surprised at how in interesting I found it all, I used to quite like their first 3 but not anymore. Would take Arctic Monkeys over them if we were in 2009 but they've got boring too.

Biffy and KOL are very different imo.

KOL wrote an album specifically to hit the big time (IMO), biffy wrote a very sincere album in the form of puzzles that put them on the up and up. KOL have always been getting bigger, at one point biffy were close to being dropped.

I really think if we are looking to the future and not recycling heritage acts then biffy are a perfect band to headline the pyramid soon :)

KOL wrote a good album in Because of the Times that put them on the up and up. Then they wrote an album in Only by the Night specifically to hit the big time.

Buffy wrote a good album in Puzzle that put them on the up and up. Then they wrote an album in Only Revolutions specifically to hit the big time.
