I do really admire the work Biffy has put into their music and showmanship to be where they are now. You can tell that they really enjoy putting on headline shows at major festivals, and you can tell that this was a dream of theirs to fulfil (becoming a band with headline status) Reading for me was a real marker, and they definitely proved to me that they can convincingly pull off a thoroughly enjoyable closing set on a Mainstage.

I think the festival should wait till 2016 and a new album before perhaps calling them up to be a step up headliner though, after a possible Download deadline performance.

(this is mainly based off of the gig at Reading add I am yet to watch the TiTP performance)

KOL wrote a good album in Because of the Times that put them on the up and up. Then they wrote an album in Only by the Night specifically to hit the big time.

Buffy wrote a good album in Puzzle that put them on the up and up. Then they wrote an album in Only Revolutions specifically to hit the big time.

Yeah I guess in a way your right, I'm only a casual fun but i just get annoyed that people think bands like biffy 'aren't good enough' or 'big enough' to headline glasto when it's just not true.

They've headlined every other UK festival, they've worked their way up, got good relations with glasto, got a great back catalogue, a reputation for great live shows and commercially they have 3 top 5 uk albums including a number one.

How people can even question their ability to headline is beggars belief

Yeah I'd love to see Biffy headline soon.

apparently next years headliners have already been sorted and I'm pretty sure one of them is going to be ACDC. The manager for one of the bands was apparently stage side for Metallica and said he wanted his band to do it next year.

The oracle says no AC/DC, and I'd bet good money that the headliners next year are a way off being sorted.

I said about 20 pages back that ACDC will never play Glastonbury. Andy Copping, the Download organiser, said if he had his time again he would never have booked them despite what a legendary band they are and what a coup it was. They were an absolute nightmare to deal with and would have demanded an astronomical fee. They would never accept the money offered to them to play Glastonbury and looking at how diva-ish they were with Download (a festival they had a lot of history with) then I cant imagine them being much different with Glastonbury. It makes me sad as I think a Pyramid slot from them would be incredible.

I cant believe that Florence is still being mentioned so consistently too. She is a long way off yet almost evey other poster seems convinced she is nailed on headliner in the next few years.

I don't believe AC/DC will ever play glastonbury but they have stated that they want to do festivals and were willing to lose the extra demands.

And Florence is a lot closer than you think. She's subbed several major festivals and headlined slightly smaller ones, with another album festivals will be giving her the push up and she's a big glasto fan.

Yep. Plus she sells out arena tours quicker than a few recent headliners.

Biffy Clyro, Radiohead and someone like Madonna.

Would be a good shout for 2016.

Biffy churned out the same set I saw at Reading. I'd like to see them headline with new material & a new stage set up just to make it "Glasto special"

Nobody think Calvin Harris could headline? Or is he still Other headliner material?
