Although this would be pleasant Glasto normally have a British headliner don't they? Unless you're counting AC/DC as British? + a band who are coming in to or are seen to be at their peak of their powers?

This line-up seems to be quite flooded with American acts, probably needs a touch up of a British headliner.

NiN, Fleetwood, ACDC, QOTSA and SG/Outkast sounds like a good weekend to me! unlikely though :(

I know I was thinking whether that line-up was too strong. Probably too good, and a budget breaker.

Pyramid : AC/DC + Queens of the Stone Age

Other : Avicii + Justice

Pyramid : Fleetwood Mac + Florence And The Machine

Other : The Prodigy + Example

Pyramid: Eminem + Outkast

Other: Nine Inch Nails + Soundgarden

Glastonbury don't tend to lump subs & headliners together by genre & certainly not to this degree, so that's a highly unlikely line up.

no they're not. let's not be silly

Lies, its a stone cold fact!

The Captain's shite, yeah, as is Many of Horror, and Bubbles, and Mountains. Their other albums are great, though.

I like Bubbles and Mountains :ninja: ...I used to even like The Captain and Many of Horror..but they got tedious fairly quickly but Mountains and Bubbles are great songs.

Buffy wrote a good album in Puzzle that put them on the up and up. Then they wrote an album in Only Revolutions specifically to hit the big time.

I don't think it was intentional as KoL, actually I don't as an album Only By the Night is quite the sell out people make it out to be either...they both happened to have a couple of tracks on them that would hit the big time. (Biffy had the better big songs though :P).

Alas as big as a Biffy fan as I am and as much I want them to headline the Pyramid, they should have at least next year off completely before the next album and headline in 2016 :D. (Though I really don't have a problem with bands with who like touring loads/releasing albums quickly as long the album is worthy of being released.)

Nobody think Calvin Harris could headline? Or is he still Other headliner material?

I thought better of you, uttter utter tripe. I'm all for having a dance act headline the Pyramid, but Calvin "Kind of the Scots" Harris is just terrible. I'd even go as far to say he gives David Guetta a run for his money in being shit.

I don't see Biffy doing it next year, seems like there are bigger alternatives and it may be a bit of an anti climax having them headline Glasto 3 years into the current tour for Opposites.

If their next album is decent though, it is safe to assume that they will headline in 2016 or 2017, given Glastonbury's tradition of giving smaller bands a chance. They totally proved themselves at Reading last year and I think TITP and IOW this year has cemented their status as headliners in the UK. Glastonbury is the next natural step for them.

I think it set's a fine example for up and coming bands as well, as they have slowly worked their way up festival lineups for 10 years now. It shows that bands can make it to headline status through hard work and perseverance, rather than bursting onto the scene and blowing up like Mumford and Sons

I was under the impression they were already on with the new album and it will be out next year. If they go for a spring/summer release they could headline next year. Autumn/Winter would mean they'd likely play in 2016.

I'm a fan, but they do need to revamp the set or have a break soon though. T in the Park was a good performance, but seemed very familiar.

I didn't ever think that I would want to see Eminem near Glastonbury, but a few clips from the Wembley gig looked pretty decent. Did anyone see what his intro was? Was it a piss take documentary about a crazed fan coming into to his house to murder him? Pyramid stage headliner with live appearances by the likes of Dre and Dido would get me interested. With Dido's brother free around site for the secret Faithless gig...

Friday:

Pyramid: Fleetwood Mac + Florence and the Machine

Other: Soundgarden + Royal Blood

Saturday:

Pyramid: Red Hot Chili Peppers + Outkast

Other: Damon Albarn + The Maccabees

Sunday:

Pyramid: Radiohead + Foals

Other: Bastille + Example

Not picking on you in particular Drakey, but people need to have a word with themselves if they think Royal Blood are going to be that high up on the bill next time. They've got one album wonders written all over them and the stuff that they've got out now isn't that good either. P.S. Before anyone asks, I am into heavier music and am a big fan of The Black Keys and The White Stripes, so it ain't a genre thing here...

That 'one album wonder' you refer to if people like it or not (most people do) probably will give Royal Blood great slots at festivals next year come its release. Their fanbase will only increase within the next year especially WHEN there first album reaches number one. They could certainly attract a major crowd subbing the other stage at glasto not saying it will defintiely happen, more likely they'll be third on the bill main stage Reading they prefer cheaper acts in prominent slots that create a buzz.

A song from the new album called Bad Guy is about Stan's younger brother coming to kill Eminem, the intro video was a build up to him opening with that song basically

edit: Also I've only just found out Faithless is more than just Maxi Jazz and Sister Bliss... always thought it was just them two

Do people really care about The Stone Roses anymore? I would have thought The Prodigy, with a confirmed album out late this year would have been a more suitable pyramid headliner than an act that if you wanted to see them since they've reformed, you have and as there's no new material, there's no push to see the same show again.

I also don't think Liam Howlett and co. will be accepting anything short of headlining any festivals anymore. They gained a lot of popularity off the back off IMD, it was only around the time of the album coming out, and after their long absence, that they dropped to sub, or The Other stage, status.

I understand your point re the roses but, they are a legendary band, playing a gig they should have done in 1995 (I think)

Fleetwood mac have no new material, but they are accepted. Id say the Roses would definitely be welcomed.

IMO The Roses at glastonbury is something a lot of people would like to see.

I dont know about the Prodigy. They would get a crowd of 45,000+ on the other. I could see them doing it again

Hmm, your argument about the roses I still don't get. However it's here I must point out I was never a fan but I can't help but think that someone like Fleetwood Mac, while they have done an arena tour over here, they haven't done nearly as many shows in the past few years as the roses - 3 at Heaton park, 2 at Finsbury, IOW, V and TitP. And that's just from 2012/2013! If you haven't seen them there, you don't want to see them.

Yeah sure there'll be fans who want to see them again but I would like to see Glasto pull someone different out of the bag rather than an act who's toured pretty heavily the last few years.

Roses won't play unless they've got new music. If they release a new album, I reckon they'll play Glastonbury. And I doubt they'd play anywhere but up top!
