Peter138
I dont mind seeing anyone really, but if i had an absolute choice, it would be a close call between the Foo Fighters and AC/DC, with the Foos just edging it as who id want to see most. Babyquack
How about The Cure as headliners next year? New material out soon and there's word of a tour later on this year so they'll be active. Haven't played Glasto since 95'! Worth a visit back don't you think?

Haven't played Glasto since 95'! Worth a visit back don't you think? Certainly. Eavis hadn't invited them back as he didn't think they were big enough to headline anymore; not sure if Bestival and R+L has changed that but I don't hold out much hope. kingcrawler
Fleetwood Mac probably downgraded due to the fact AC/DC are looking more likely. Hmm, unless something's changed in the last few days Neil seems pretty confident it won't be AC/DC the ACDC rumours are crap, and that'll become clear. And why would a metaller go next year, when Glasto is the least likely of any time ever to have a metal headliner?
CaledonianGonzo
Neil has dismissed the AC/DC rumour - but I'm not ruling them out based on the likelihood of that actually being Peter Mensch that Eavis was referring to.
jackarmy
I just couldn't see AC/DC agreeing to play Glastonbury, especially after their demands when they played Download in 2010.
mattgimmeshelter
Fleetwood Mac downgraded from TBC to SR on the rumours page. No, no, no, no, NO! Wow so maybe not so definite then? I wonder, maybe it's too early to book them a year in advance. Anything could happen!

Ah okay, I didn't know he'd said that. Smith wouldn't accept anything other than headliner so if Eavis doesn't think they're big enough, it isn't going to happen. mattgimmeshelter
Pete Mensch also manages muse people keep forgetting this, it could well be more fire for the muse rumour.

bocumaroy
The Cure not big enough to headline?!? That seems strange to me. Am I just massively overrating their popularity?
dentalplan
Gigwise did an article earlier today about eFestivals having them down as a TBC. At least they credited eFests this time I suppose.

The Cure are definitely big enough to headline. i doubt you'd find a festival that they wouldn't headline. but that still doesn't mean that they're gonna headline Glastonbury any time soon. really no demand there. still find it strange that they headlined Reading and Leeds

Bradders
For what it's worth. The Cure are one of the most universally liked bands of everyone I know. Almost every fan of alternative/guitar music enjoys The Cure, right?

They were doing their first festival tour in years so it made sense as an out of the norm headliner and also brought in a lot of the muso types. Not sure how they'd go down at Glasto with the more casual punters and a 2 and 1/2 hour set.

Not sure how they'd go down at Glasto with the more casual punters and a 2 and 1/2 hour set. saw them at Bestival in '11 and they were fantastic, but there were definitely long periods in their set when it didn't have a fucking clue what songs were being played and it seemed like they'd been playing the same song for 20 minutes (although i suppose it easily could've just been two ten minute songs played one after the other with The Cure). they'd be a great headliner but i just don't see it any time soon
TheSilence
Oh right, I must have missed Neil denying the AC/DC rumours. Wonder if he's allowed to shed some light on why they're down as an SR now.
Babyquack
The Cure are definitely big enough to headline. i doubt you'd find a festival that they wouldn't headline. but that still doesn't mean that they're gonna headline Glastonbury any time soon. really no demand there. still find it strange that they headlined Reading and Leeds Was there demand for Metallica though? I know they're a bit of a special case but if you wanted to catch Metallica recently, you've had a chance every year since I can remember The Cure would be special because they haven't played the festival in so long and, as Bradders, says they are one of the most universally like acts I've ever known. Every festival I've ever been to, I'm yet to not see a handful of people wearing The Cure t-shirts This is conclusive proof they are in demand!
