Metallica worked because of the whole 'first metal band to headline Glastonbury' thing. yes they'd been fucking everywhere all the time, but nobody thought they'd ever be at Glastonbury

The Cure would go down a treat at Glastonbury - along with Bestival, probably the best UK festival for them. but i just don't reckon they'll be booked any time soon without a successful album to back / a real reason for them to headline. plus their sets tend to be like 3 hours long with Glastonbury isn't likely to accommodate

1. Not bothered about Fleetwood Mac being demoted myself, but I know lots on here really want them to, so that's a little disappointing for those people.

2. Why would AC/DC playing mean Fleetwood Mac aren't?

3. Where did Neil make that AC/DC post? Was it in here? I never saw it.

4. Did Eavis say The Cure aren't big enough? I thought he said something like "They were rubbish last time they played so why should we book them again?".

5. Please be The Cure.

The thing with Fleetwood for me is even though I'm not a huge fan I'd like to see them but not to the extent of paying for their own gig so Glasto would be a good substitute and would like to see them at least once before they call it quits so quite gutted they're not almost a definite now :(

I can't see Mr Eavis seeing The Cure as an exciting headliner. In the heat of their moment they may have been great which is why they have headlined thrice. But now in a time when the festival is trying to get new, different headliners or favourites like Muse, Arctic Monkeys I can't see them falling into the radar.

I find them a little bit boring, and was disinterested by seeing them at Reading so I went the NME stage. I saw a whole 2 bands in the time they were playing and came to the Mainstage and the atmosphere seemed a little flat. I think they do a too long set.

I can understand non-fans finding it overdrawn, personally I adored their set at Reading, but that's why I'm hesitant about them at Glastonbury. Though with them successfully headlining Bestival and R&L, Eavis might change his mind them if he's sttuggling to book another legend status headliner.

I can't see the cure or the who headlining.

I don't think the who will play again, they're one of those big legend acts who've done it already, it's not like they have new material everyone is dying to hear so I don't think they'll play again.

I just don't see the cure having the current appeal to headline the pyramid. They would probably draw a dedicated crowd and go down a storm headlining the other though.

For what it's worth. The Cure are one of the most universally liked bands of everyone I know. Almost every fan of alternative/guitar music enjoys The Cure, right?

There are those with no soul who don't like them...

With the sets The Cure play atm, I can't see it going down well on the Pyramid for most as fantastic as it would be. (I thought they was fantastic at Reading, mesmerising infact but the crowd was a bit meh for large parts of the set :P)

Despite what I said about everyone liking The Cure, when they headlined Leeds I did wander off in the middle to catch a bit of Sleigh Bells (was very into them at the time, wasn't down to The Cure being poor) and then came back to see the end. Overall I probably saw the first hour or so and then the encore and it was incredible. This was the setlist I saw.

  1. Tape
  2. Encore:
Missed about 12 songs after Friday I'm In Love and, as a fan but not obsessive, I only recognise 2 of those songs from the title (A Forest and Wrong Number). That setlist would go down a storm at Glasto.

Seems that Adele is tipped to be touring her new album next year. Top of the Eavises list isn't she?

As long as they can magically cure these mysterious nerves which appear at festivals but not the Oscars, the Grammys, the Brit Awards or a tour she's nailed on surely..

If Adele's touring I see no reason why she wouldn't be doing Glasto if the primary reason was her stage fright. Suppose it depends on how big her tour's going to be though.

Foo Fighters

Radiohead

Adele

Money? Doesn't want to do it? /crowd is to big etc. ...There are plenty of reasons..

More of an unlikely prediction but

Fri

Muse

Bjork

Damon Albarn

Lorde

George Ezra

Sat

Fleetwood Mac

Morissey

Jake Bugg

Alt - J

Haim

Sunday

Florence + The Machine

Noel Gallagher

Two door cinema club

Elton John

Cant see Jake Bugg or HAIM being there next year myself, also cannot see Flo headlining.

Reckon Alt J would be higher or headline a stage, too big for John Peel??

Biffy Clyro

Florence and the Machine

Fleetwood Mac

NGHFB

Prince

Example

I'd say Alt-J are too big for John Peel, 3rd down on Pyramid or very high (subbing or headlining) Other stage.

Also, I'd be really surprised if Florence plays next year and doesn't headline.
