Autumn is the most beautiful time of year, this is when the trees shed their leaves. Similarly, post-Glastonbury is the most beautiful time of year on efests, the people who want to discuss inconsequential matters like the actual festival all potter off back to their daily lives (fucking rubberneckers), and a small band of the internet's elite reclaim what is rightfully theirs. The most sure sign that this time is back in full swing, is when the world's longest foreplay session once again takes up residence on page 1, of course I refer to the Nick Cave thread.

Winter is a weird time for festival discussion. Always abit of information later in the year. I'd also say around dec / jan we get a bit of a picture of who might be in the frame. When T, Reading and whatever other festival delivers a slither of their lineup. Also a lot of artists announce tours for 2015, so you form a small image of who's around.

You're not in the Southern Hemisphere are you?

From very rough calculations, the 15th of August is the most barren part of the glastonbury year. It's the furthest point between being at the festival to T-Day meltdown.

That is only a fortnight away...

Very true. I believe the foreplay session will resume on 13th August this year.

I could see Biffy doing it.

It'll perhaps help that someone Michael trusts will very probably be bigging them up to him as more than able to do it.

I used to love BC but their last album has put me off them a fair bit. Surely another top album needed to headline Glasto?

Is it the family member that got him to book Metallica? :P

I could definitely see them headlining but they've already been on tour for over two years now so maybe next album.

Biffy were amazing at T in the Park, i was quick to bemoan them when they were first announced for there but i have no shame in admitting they were fantastic. V worthy of headlining glastonbury but as mentioned they have been on tour for ages. Still though im sure if they were asked they would make an exception.

Lars has defo fuelled the AC/DC rumour anyway, not sure how much he actually knows though....

aren't they already writing/recording the new album in a hope for a 2015 release, so they'd maybe already be on the next tour cycle come Glastonbury

still don't see it myself, but maybe i just have too much faith in the Glastonbury bookers. then again, i can only see one of Muse / Foo Fighters / Biffy (generic Reading and Leeds rock) doing it so we shall see

Yeah but I recall them saying it's a late 2015 release. That'd be no good really.

Anyway I resent the 'generic R+L rock' statement; Glastonbury's rock is as, if not more generic. B)

nope, tho I'm not even sure if the family member" story I was told is actually true.

That's a shame. I wanted to believe that. :P

The last news I had on AC/DC was album is finished and will be released to coincide with a tour..... the later will be announced in the Autumn was the last news.

Why would they need another album? (Apart from people being bored with Opposites) They have now sucesfully headlined every other major festival in the UK.
