Which night would Foo's most likely play? Could QOTSA sub them? I still want Biffy to headline but I can't see it happening

there really isn't any special night that they could particularly play, although i've always seen them playing the Saturday if they did play. i don't see QOTSA subbing though - they've almost ended their ...Like Clockwork tour, and are almost headliners in their own right now. Glastonbury doesn't tend to get the bigger subs (like TITP often does etc)

if Biffy are gonna do it, 2016 seems more likely (that's if Muse don't do it that year)

Oh god. Prince has been added to the rumours list now. Is that a wind up? I can't cope with all that again next year.

I didn't see that before, fucking excellent stuff! Another year of that...

I'll start the ball rolling then. I wonder if Prince has agreed to a 'play next year' deal a la Paul McCartney in 2003/4.

Fleetwood Mac - Foo Fighters or AC/DC - Prince would be pretty phenomenal.

yeah that would be an 2009 rivalling strong set of headliners that, but life just isn't that good so w'ell probably get The Vaccines getting the bump up

I did say it was an outside bet :D

I don't think it's to much of a stretch to be completely unbelievable though! New albums almost a certainty to go in at number 1, subbed TITP and V-fest ( I know completely incomparable to Glastonbury) last time he was touring and certainly has enough songs to fill out the setlist if he turns out a few Oasis numbers.

I thought Grohl was quite the family man - with a baby last month - i'd be surprised if they came over here for any length of time, like a whole month. When the previous daughters were born Foos went on hiatus - with Tenacious D, and Crooked Vultures taking his occasional live date. A set of a few high profile dates would be most likely.

What's the thinking re Foals? I thought the band who played the Pilton Party were usually nailed on, though did see that their set at Bestival was allegedly their last for 18 months. Sorry, can't go back through the whole thread! Personally think headlining Bestival would be a good jumping off point for them to have a leg-up, Mumfords-style.

I think Foals just announced they'd be off the road for the next 18 months. As for what slot they get the way the tickets sold for the Pilton Party couldn't have helped things.

Flashback Festival Somerset. Would rather not.

Aren't most of the festivals Flashback Festival Somerset these days? :P

It's hardly as if they're all washed up, Fleetwood Mac and Prince's live shows were pretty well received in 2013/14. Foo Fighters I imagine are still good live, the only potential trouble from that point of view is AC/DC. But then again, it's AC/DC.

I don't see many new bands ready for the step up (I don't buy the idea that Foals are ready for 2015, anyway). Maybe someone like Biffy Clyro? But I can see them being around for 2016.

After signing that record deal, Tom Waits??

Surely big enough to draw a crowd, if not just because he rarely plays.

Unfortunately, a live show would probably be lost on the Pyramid. In an ideal, utopian world, Glastonbury would have Tom Waits headlining West Holts.
