Clean pair of clothes in the car for the trip home, or stash some in a plastic bag in a lock up if going by public transport and change at the coach/train station.

Take a folding chair or stool (just be sensible where you use them), seating always seams in short supply if the worst happens.

If you are a smoker take a ziplock bag for your cigarette/rolling equipment. No fun trying to smoke a wet cigarette or getting a paper out of a wet rizla packet.

I have waterproofing for my walking boots and gators... is there any point adding a load of vaseline on top - surely can do no harm?

Is it worth using this waterproofing spray, or the on for my tent, on any items of clothing, waterproofs, old combats or basbell cap etc?

For those talking about trousers underneath waterproof trousers, thinking shorts would be your best option? Full double layers would be sweaty?

I've been holding off buying any serious wet weather gear as I'll never use it outside of glastonbury......but given the recent forecasts and I'm doing back to back festival weekends, I think Amazon will be getting some extra orders tonight.....just trying to decide whether to go for the cheaper 'some rain, basic waterproofs' option or prepare for a very wet time and go for a more expensive, more durable waterproof option. Hmmmmm.....

The latest forecast is a bit pants with sunshine and sh*wers forecast but who gives a flying fuck, its going to be awesome whatever the weather. Shorts and a waterproof mac, a big smile and copious (but not too much, I'm a bit of a lightweight) amounts of alcohol and we'll be laughing.

In two days guys. TWO days!!

I try never to let it ruin the weekend. I've been through (I think) five mudbaths now, and the only one I really struggled with was the last one. On the previous ones you put on your wellies and got on with it, but last time for some reason it was particularly sticky and treacherous and I just kept getting stuck. Bah.

Won't happen this time, of course.

Do not camp with your tent door facing uphill - far greater risk of wet getting in and I'll never forget the sounds I heard in 07 after a guy lost his footing on a slope and skidded muddy boots first into an open tent with a dozing couple therein

But I did laugh

Don't forget belts by the way - forgot one last year, went to pretty much every clothing stall and only found very girly ones or ugly mens ones for £30. Eventually found a stall on the other side of the site that had an ugly one with sequins for £3, picked the sequins off, and I now still wear it, but it was a pain in the arse, and there was a good chance of not finding one at all.

Wellies with decent insoles then duck tape your waterproof trousers to them. Peel off all together in your porch.

Lots and lots of socks.

Resealable freezer bags come in various sizes and are great for clothes, cameras, loo roll, etc. Also leave some clean dry clothes in the car for your drive home.

Don't wear jeans, you'll regret it.
