FESTIVAL IS CONDUCTED TO CELEBRATE THE 90TH ANNIVERSARY OF FRENCH COMPOSER PAUL MAURIAT (1925-2006).

Objectives of the festival is to promote the musical heritage of Paul Mauriat and to discover new talented performers and arrangers. The festival is held in the contest format in different nominations.

For 35 years Paul Mauriat was an ambassador of French culture in the world. Paul Mauriat's musical talent was not limited to masterly interpretations of popular and classical music. Paul Mauriat was also the composer of more than 150 of his own instrumental pieces and songs, the best and large part of which are known in the recordings of his own orchestra.

Besides Paul Mauriat gained fame as a songs composer. Paul Mauriat songs were included into the repertoire of a lot of French singers: Mireille Mathieu, Dalida (Yolanda Gigliotti), Leny Escudero, Maria Candido, Roger Varnay, Tino Rossi, Gloria Lasso, Rika Zaraï, Michel Mallory, François Comtat, Jacqueline Boyer, Anne Philippe, Michele Torr, Danielle Licari, Orlando (Bruno Gigliotti)… Аnd also English and Italian stars as Petula Clark and Caterina Valente, Tahitian singer Jean Gabilou …

Songs «I will follow him», «La longe marche», «Colorado» written by Paul Mauriat in collaboration with Frank Pourcel and Raymond Lefevre, received international acclaim, also versions of their own a number of original works of Paul Mauriat can be heard in numerous cover versions ... Versions of their own on Mauriat's themes were recorded by Raphael Martos, Agnetha Fältskog, Joe Sentieri, Pat Boone, Steve Lawrence, Jackie Chan, Chan Chelsia, Annabelle Lui, Angus Tung, La Lupe, Violeta Rivas, Gilbert Stein, Alcione, Kyoko Takada, Sumiko Sakamoto, «The Three Degrees», including instrumental versions by Marcel Bianchi, André Blot, Ronnie Aldrich, Hugo Strasser, Franck Pourcel, Raymond Lefevre, Caravelli, Percy Faith, Ray Conniff, Concert Band Of Her Majesty’s Life Guards, “The Ventures”, Naka Shigeo, JAL Jet Stream, Perry La Marca, Bernard Arcadio, Gilles Gambus, Gerard Gambus...

We announce our festival for lovers of the easy listening and classical music. We glad see instrumentalists, leaders of the ensembles, groups & orchestras, singers, arrangers, composers (!), musical teachers and etc. whom estimate excellent melodies and would like show themselves or their group. If you never listen to music by composer Paul Mauriat and recordings of his orchestra, it does not matter! The festival was created like an information platform and any request will not go unanswered.

We invite to participate in this festival-contest both professional musicians and amateurs of any level of musicianship. You can introduce yourself or your musical group.

Festival takes place from May 2014 to February 2015. Results of the festival-contest will be announced on the 90th birthday of maestro - March 4, 2015.

Participants of the festival will receive a certificate, and the best video performance will be awarded diplomas.

All participants will be divided into four main age groups: 5-14, 15-20, 21-45, 46 and older.

Competition will be held in the following nominations: "soloists", "ensembles", "orchestras", "arrangers".

The jury consists of professional musicians and PM fans.
