Tent Recommendation

It's less than two weeks to titp 2014, me and my friends have been stupid enough to not to buy and tent and now we are panicking, there are 3 of us but we are looking for a 4/5 man tent so we can have room for bags etc. We've been looking at great outdoors and everything seems to be ridiculously expensive, even the festival tents. Any recommendations? I hope this topic helps more than just myself as i'm pretty sure there will be other people in my position.

Try Asda/Tesco/Halfords/Argos.

Always good deals with them.

After an abysmal tent experience at Reading last year I will never ever buy a Pop up tent again. I've steered clear of anything branded 'festival' because they are cheap and designed to be left behind!

It has to be double skinned. Even if it doesn't rain, the condensation from inside will drown you. I just sold an old teepee style one for £30 on ebay, so I suggest trying there. I don't know the name of the one I'm using for T as it's a friends and it's all packed away!

£21 down from £40, it's double skinned, I get the same ones for every festival and they've never done me wrong, and you can pick it up the next day for free in your nearest tesco.

See that looks really good till you see the hydrostatic head is only 1500. I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole after the Sunday in 2011 and all of 2012. I would never go for anything less than 3000 and my real tent that I use for bike packing has 6000. Chances are it'll be fine but I wouldn't trust it if the weather was looking grim.

I had a Coleman tent that had a hh of 1500 in 2012 and it was fine, just ended up full of mud from the wellies

At T 2012 my mates tent started leaking, we just put a tarp over it and secured it with guy ropes...worked a treat!!
