What's the deal with different coloured campsites?

Can anyone give me a brief lowdown on the camping at V? So at Weston Park you camp anywhere but there are different ones at Hylands? What are the different attractions of each one?

Hylands Red and Yellow campsite are the only options

Red is supposedly "louder" but I've only ever camped in Red so cannot confirm this. You can take the small portable BBQ trays into red campsite at Hylands Park but not yellow campsite. Yellow campsite is owned and operated by and independent campsite organiser whose rules vary. You can take small portable BBQ trays into the campsites at Weston Park.

The last 7 years I have been, yellow has been far closer to the car park than red. Red is close to the fun fair at night, but probably equal walk from both campsites to the arena.

Thanks for reply, I am still debating going for a day but travel for one day to get there in time (and back at sensible time) is proving nightmare

Be brave and go for it Narnia, you will love it when you get there and anyway life is to short. P.s I am going all the way from devon on my own to Weston park for the third time (as I do not have any friends!) and loved it each time and can not wait for this year's.

I just have this nightmare vision that I will get locked out of the arena and trapped in the campsite for 12 hours, surrounded by large groups of mischievous teenagers outside/on/in my tent! I have never been to an 'arena' style of festival and I am concerned about the evenings confined to field of tents without friends to keep me from going insane lol

But I am in the process of convincing someone who seems half keen!
