Want to go for a day but nightmare travel wise

Anyone know if there are coaches that do day trips to either venues? Guessing not and I can't find anything online

Where are you based? The train from London to Chelmsford is easy and there is a shuttle bus that runs so a pretty easy run onto site

Shuttle bus to Wolverhampton and then the overnight coach to London.

Getting to Weston park on Saturday or Sunday is dead easy as most people arrive Friday so there is very little traffic around by the weekend

Think there is a bus from Stafford and Wolverhampton stations

Won't go into the inns and outs of journey options but trust me going for weekend leaving Fri return Mon daytime hours = easy with choice of transport and cheap. Going for 1 day (making the most of the day so getting there in time and leaving when it finishes) = nightmare, expensive (£35 taxi on top to get to train station at silly o'clock in morning as no buses) and not nice loitering in the dead of night for 6 hours in station on way back!

Oh well! I am keen to see a couple of bands but probably not worth it if it will cost so much with transport or maybe accom aswell. Still undecided about this festival anyway, seems no need to rush to book tho as still seems to be a lot of tickets left :/

I want to go for one day and I'm happy to book a hotel either in London or near Stafford. I'm based in Leeds and need to go by public transport.

Can I just check: does the shuttle bus go back to Chelmsford at the end of the day? It seems that getting to either venue during the day is fine but getting back would be tricky. It looks like I'd be better to stay somewhere so all I need to do is get from the festival site to whichever train station I'll need.

Any advice would be much appreciated. It's a shame that day visitors don't seem to be catered for.

From Weston Park, the stated time the shuttle buses go back to Stafford/Wolverhampton/Telford is 12:30. You queue & the buses keep arriving so I'm pretty sure if there was still people queuing after midnight they would keep sending buses until everyone had got back.
