Have you ever tried chilli and sprouts? If not you should as they are a heavenly combination.

Fried with bacon+butter+chestnuts, they're bloody delicious. Any overboiled green stuff is minging, sprouts are just rarely cooked properly.

Or rather should be cooked rare!

I must admit, I have not. I'll give it a go. My bacon,butter+ chestnut concoction is a Christmas regular. I think it was originally from Nigella, but I've no idea if my current version is anything like hers was.

If left to my own devices I can't cook at all. I once tried to cook cauliflower cheese. In a drunken haze I cooked the cauliflower and then looked at the cheese. I made a decision. I would create my own variant of cauliflower cheese. This was to eat a bite of the cauliflower, and then just eat a bite of the cheese after etc etc I haven't advanced much further since.
