fatyeti24
DEADMAU5 could be billed as doing some sort of "closing set" rather than headlining, then Ben Howard/Jamie T have the "headline" slot? Bit like with the Smashing Pumpkins/The XX? genuine question - is Jamie T that big? has his comeback gone well? he's not my cup of tea usually so i don't pay him much attention, but he was away for a few years wasn't he? kingcrawler
Surely an indie/rock act against kanye?? Not necessarily, could easily be a dance act then a couple of indie/rock acts on John Peel and the Park.
thewayiam
thewayiam has finished his boxset of The Big Bang Theory & needs to battle Matt42. Couchy, this is too bloody weird man! Not just now but the other week I only just finished working my way through The Big Bang Theory LMAO Friday: Deadmau5 Rudimental The Vaccines Jungle Saturday: Ben Howard Suede The Maccabees Peace Sunday: The Chemical Brothers Jamie T Clean Bandit Death Cab For Cutie I really don't want Suede there. Rudimental is fine, I expected that, gives me a 15 run to the Pyramid. Death Cab seems about right. That's about it for me and the Other based on that. alt-J are but Chems aren't. The guy who told us there was a 7pm announcement yesterday (and also told Neil some other stuff which was cortect) said alt-J are subbing Pyramid on Saturday. This, coupled with their position on the poster, makes me pretty certain they're subbing. Being Pedantic but he said subbing Sunday, they can't do Saturday ;P A closing set, reading festival regulars will be thrilled I doubt it'd matter, the stage won't close any later so closing set or not it'd still go down basically as a header with the sub as a sub when you're working out who to see. Due to that, it'd be strange to even have them billed as a closing header at Glasto.
thewayiam
Not necessarily, could easily be a dance act then a couple of indie/rock acts on John Peel and the Park. With Deadmau5/The Chems for Friday/Sunday it's unlikely to be a dance act. It'll be a rockier act.

kingcrawler
With Deadmau5/The Chems for Friday/Sunday it's unlikely to be a dance act. It'll be a rockier act. We don't know Deadmau5 is definitely Friday though, do we? The list Matt posted on the previous page suggests Rudimental, Deadmau5 and Chemical Brothers as well. The list Matt posted on the previous page suggests Rudimental, Deadmau5 and Chemical Brothers as well. Friday night is more than likely a dance orientated act given it's the Foo's, they are a bit between an older act and one for the younger generation so it's the perfect style of act really and as it can't be The Chems, that shortens your options and they aren't likely to have a Sat and Sun Other dance header. Twi dance acts with a rockier act in between that is liked over a wide commercial barrier up against Kanye makes a lot of sense.
strummer77
Surely an indie/rock act against kanye?? I think the Chems would have been ideal to go up against him actually although Neil's info suggests Sunday.

LondonTom
A closing set, reading festival regulars will be thrilled Well "headline length" for one of the Indie/Rock acts. genuine question - is Jamie T that big? has his comeback gone well? he's not my cup of tea usually so i don't pay him much attention, but he was away for a few years wasn't he? I think his in that weird place where an act would be sent as a decent/strong sub but a weak headliner I guess. His been getting a fair amount of radio airplay with his latest album though. Not necessarily, could easily be a dance act then a couple of indie/rock acts on John Peel and the Park. Indeed, something like FFS (not looked at tour dates) for the Saturday JP slot would go down a treat against Kanye/a dance act.
kingcrawler
Where will The Charlatans fit in? I doubt they'll be higher than 4th/5th down.

kingcrawler
Sorry if this is already out there: Resident advisor has chems on the saturday...http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/chemicalbrothers/dates They've got everyone down for the Saturday, even acts like Alt-J who can't play that day. For some reason they've got Saturday down as the first day so I think that's why.

Matt42
I know they aren't the most popular band in the world. But it deffo seems were missing a big act for the other stage this year... I was just thinking of names. Imagine Dragons? other stage sub? recently released a new album?

I was just thinking of names. Imagine Dragons? other stage sub? recently released a new album? They're in America over the weekend thankfully. To be honest they're probably big enough to headline the Other stage now going by their arena tour but I can't see them being booked anytime soon. FloorFiller
i'm still championing Iggy Pop or Beck to take that Other Stage sub slot under Ben Howard. i will not let the two year 'alt-rock Other sub' tradition die!
