Other Stage Headliners 2015

i don't think Ben Howard playing lower down at Parklife, a predominantly dance festival, really has any baring on his placing at Glastonbury. Rudimental may well end up headlining over him, but i still think they'll be a sub personally. they just don't strike me as quite big enough to pull off a Other headline spot (even with a new album on the way)

Deadmau5

Rudimental

The Vaccines

Ben Howard

-somebody yet to be announced-

The Chemical Brothers

Jamie T

is how i see it playing out

Yeah I'm still in thought that Howard can still sub, there is nothing to say he can't yet.

All we know is likely are.

Deadmau5

Rudimental

Ben Howard. There isn't anything to suggest he's not the sub. Considering all JP headers are there now with less names and last year with more they weren't I don't think there is any telling.

The Chemical Brothers

Jamie T

You've said a few times about Ben Howard subbing another rock/indie kind of act opposite Kanye, and whilst I don't disagree with the idea, who actually is there that could possibly fit that description? Beck (I don't know much of his music do dunno if he fits)? Can't think of anyone else.

Yeah this is what I'm expecting, too.

So deadmau5, Ben Howard, The Chemical Brothers

An interesting trio, stronger than I imagined as before the lineup poster I didn't think the mau5 would be there at all.

All three will draw pretty big crowds.

We should have another other sub to come, I'm intrigued to who as I can't think of anyone...

Apologies if I've missed it but do we know that Deadmau5 is going to be on the Other stage? Deadmau5 & chems are pretty similar type acts to both be headlining the 2nd biggest stage. Deadmau5 headlining Sonic maybe?

he's one of the biggest DJ's in the world - he's not gonna be lumped in the Sonic. definitely an Other headliner imo. the only way him and Chemical Brothers are similar is that they're both electronic acts - apart from that, they're like apples and oranges

You are probably right and i understand the difference - but the Other stage is a stage that generally appeals to the masses, who might just see them as 2 electronic DJ acts - have 2 DJs ever headlined the Other Stage before?

Sonic has had some big names the last couple of years - Nas, Fat Boy Slim etc. I agree that Deadmau5 is a bigger name but wouldn't 100% rule it out.

Read the page before

One year The Chems, Orbital and Basement Jaxx all headlined The Other

I can confirm that Ben Howard is headlining the Other Stage on Saturday night.

Was told at his gig on Monday by a very good source who is close to his band. The band are really excited and looking forward to this show the most by all accounts.

That would be ok for me. I'm still crossing my fingers for something spectacular somewhere else, but I don't mind what I've heard of Ben Howard. In 2013 some of his band were in the bus queue by us on Monday morning, complete with guitar cases and camping gear, was strange to think that they had been performing on the biggest stage in the place a couple of days before but were now sat looking slightly bummed with the rest of us waiting for the slow bus to brizzle.

Wouldn't Rudimental get another chance at a pyramid slot lower down since the storm fucked their set last year? Or do you think Glasto will want to mix it up and put them elsewhere? I'm assuming they got booked for a second year running to let them have another crack at the slot without being done over by the weather.

They've got a new album coming out at some point and released a new song the other day so I guess they've been booked since they're touring the new album rather than because of the storm cutting their set short.

Any chance of Kodaline subbing or 3rd down?

Playing a lot of other festivals, played last year and they have new music out.

Need you wish such dreary miserable mercy on our souls? I would imagine they'll play very early on on the pyramid, but with a bit of luck they'll keep that bed wettery away from G
