fatyeti24
Manchester Orchestra are probably my favourite Madchester band. Which one? The Philly? The Halle?
jonodillieono
Manchester Orchestra are probably my favourite Madchester band. But they're not from Manchester... Oldham isn't quite within the city borders
Mardy
Happy Mondays were the best band from manchester for about 18 glorious months. Everything after that was abysmal. But for that brief period, ahh man. They fucking ruled. My shout for the best Manchester band? maybe King of the Slums. Blowzy Wierdos is an amzing album. Amy Lawn
weird that you say that: whilst watching St. Vincent this year a girl noticed a guy next to me wearing a Los Campesinos! t shirt and they started gushing to each other about them. i wanted to chime in but lost my nerve. damn but i agree. Los Campesinos! have such a particular fun type of fan. i've rather shamefully never been to one of their own shows (saw them at Leeds fest in the NME tent). this must change A girl rugby tackled me to the ground in the SE corner on Thursday night shouting "LOS CAMPESIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINOS!" because I was wearing one of the t-shirts. Had a dance and sing in the rain on Friday with a nice man wearing one of the very fetching LC4LYF hoodies (I was wearing a differing LC! t-shirt to the night before, I'm not a scruff), would happily hang out with either of these loons again. dentalplan
Well Stone Roses, The Fall and Joy Division/New Order probably are in reality, but if we're not doing the obvious choices...

Amy Lawn
Blimey, how many Los Campesinos t shirts do you have? I will buy whatever merch they put on their website (take the just-announced Christmas EP for example), it's why I'm so hard up, could probably be wadded if it weren't for them (I actually couldn't). If everybody buys shitloads of Los Camp merch, they'll have to go full time, I'm investing in an industry I believe in. There's some free market principles for ya. bocumaroy
LC! have day jobs? I find that a bit depressing. Not that I feel sorry for them, they still get to play their songs for people who love them and all that, but I'd have thought they were big enough to earn a living from it. I think it's due (at least in part) to personal choice, they want to do things with their lives, fair play to them.
Comfy Bean
I think they will still be playing live next summer. I have a feeling that they may be at Kendall Calling again next year. We are seeing James at the Hydro in Glasgow this Saturday. Great live band as has been said. How many bands could tour ( successfully ) with an orchestra ? Would love to see them back at Kendal but it was only 2012 so seems a bit soon. Also saw them at Wickerman in 2011 when the sound system was playing up ( pissing down ) and the rumour was they would be back there as Wickerman had to release some statement taking the hit for their sound being shit. Would love to see them at Glastonbury. Early evening slot on the Pyramid I would think. Anywayz...off to listen to Los Campesinos, never seen them.
