I can't see the Flaming Lips headlining the Other Stage again, they seem to have had a pretty big decline in popularity over the past couple of years.

At Bestival 2013 their crowd was pretty much none existent, you could walk straight through to the front barrier.

Where were you last month when I was arguing with people saying they were more popular now than ever...!!!???!!?

I would love them to open the festival on the other stage, they would be perfect for that spot.

Then headline JP Friday night.

This is the LC! thread isn't it? Anyone see them in Manchester last night? Top as always, would love to see them at Glasto.

The Los Campesinos! thread?

Aye, fantastic last night, wurnt they? Par for the course. Apparently Gareth isn't a big fan of the festival, but as it's on a weekend, outside of the football season, and not too long a drive from Cardiff, I reckon one year they could all hop in the van and treat us all to a sweaty fistful of indie pop.

Nero are due new material soon. They could be a surprise headliner of the other? They're as big in this country as some of the other stage dance acts over the last couple of years (C&S, Skrillex) Always pack out the tents and i would imagine they'd draw a good crowd. They are bloody good live as well. Pleasantly surprised by them at Bestival 12.

Fucking incredible act. Love their material. A highly respected dance production duo for me.

They need to be in the dark. Couldn't see them doing the Other Headline as they aren't big enough to be blunt. I think that Sonic Headline is about the closest thing we'd get to a live/dark kinda show. But I don't get overly fussed when I hear that a band is playing Sonic.

I've never understood why Mark Ronson gets so much praise as a solo artist?!

Don't get me wrong, he's a good producer but the vast vast majority of the tracks on his albums are written by a team of people, not just him. There are even a couple of tracks that aren't written by him at all. And the tracks are almost always performed by somebody else.

In fact, the album that made him a household name was a covers album where each song was covered by someone other than Ronson - and he somehow won a BRIT for best solo male!? Yeah he can write a nice arrangement and produce a good record but that doesn't make him a solo artist in my eyes.

Couldn't really give a fuck. I like his songs. That's it. I like Girls Aloud too. They don't write their own shit either.

No, but they do sing it.

Some of The arrangements on version are pretty fucking cool though, I think.

I'm not disputing that, it's a well produced record. But the likes of George Martin, Rick Rubin, Quincy Jones, Butch Vig etc have produced some of the best albums ever released and, while they rightly receive the praise they deserve, the records aren't released under their names as solo artists.
