I've went the last few thursdays but always after work so never got there till after 6pm usually! This year we've all managed to get the day off work and can head up anytime, what we're wondering is how big is the queue usually and is it worth it heading up earlier? I takes us roughly an hour and half to get there and we are planning on leaving about 1?

should we leave earlier? will we be queueing for ages? we've a fairly big 8 man tent this year for 5 of us so we do need a bit of room, thats why we're thinking earlier is best!

Apparently the gates don't open til 3, but from what I've heard elsewhere, they tend to open them at 12 anyway. The majority of the buses get in between 1 and 4.

Arriving around 3 is probably the best. Middle of the rush I guess.

You also have to consider the traffic, and if you're coming in from the south then there's also a good 45min hike from the car to the entrance.the car park opens at 12 and the campsite at 3pm, but you will be in the queue for a while regardless, so would recommend the earlier the better to get a prime spot.

I'm travelling down via Mega Bus and arrive at 10am (providing there are no delays) Do you think people will be queuing at that time or will we be the only ones in the queue?
