Do you actually like the lineup?

But yeah I think it's rubbish and won't be going. There's actually ended up being a decent amount of acts I'd see (like 20-odd, I think), but nothing to make me pay £200. Arctic Monkeys are the only headliner (playing last) on any stage that I'd actively want to see (though I'd happily see Gogol Bordello and JEW).

Might have got a day ticket if QOTSA were playing last, so nice one Melvin, you've lost your best customer.

Also Werchter is a worse festival than Leeds aside from the music (although Cein's a Reading goer, right, so after-hours entertainment isn't as much (is the Silent Disco on at Reading? That's the only after-hours entertainment I like at Leeds)), but lol Werchter shits down R&L's throat lineup-wise.

Yeah I'm a reading goer but I'm not really into silent disco's and whatnot. I hate clubbing so really only ever go to a festival for the live music, which Werchter offers in a high calibre, so that's definitely why I preferred it as a festival + it had a nicer vibe. While the crowd is consistently stood still (the norm. for Belgium I'm told) it never stopped me dancing so I never really cared.

I think I'd actually be happier with the Leeds line up than Werchter. You're fucked if you don't particularly want to see an act cos there's only one other stage with something on and it's some European shit.

I think there was only about 2 and a half hours during the (4 day) festival where I didn't particularly want to see any acts. I really enjoyed discovering some big european acts though tbh and a festival where you can see Eels play and where the crowd goes mental for him adds bonus marks in my book :P

They did the best they could with the acts available but could have done better with the acts available...

Just because someone isn't blatantly available doesn't mean you can't book them. It's not uncommon for a festival to book someone who isn't publicly on a tour.

Were the Libertines even touring in 2010? Wasn't Reading/leeds their only date.

Talking a band in reuniting is slightly different though Matt - should they have gotten someone like The White Stripes to get back together then in order to book someone unique?

I think there's a lack of big acts on the lineup for sure but there are lots of smaller bands that I would like to see. If I end up getting to see the number of bands I'm planning, about 20 or so, then it will probably be worth it in my eyes. Friday and Saturday are really good days but Sunday is quite shit though. To be honest it wouldn't take much to get most people into the lineup by which I mean a few better subs and possibly some better NME alternatives later on. Having missed out on Glasto there wasn't really a better lineup this year anyway for me and my friends so Reading it is.

I really like the lineup. Loads of my favourite bands are there, I've only seen 4 of the band's playing (though will be 5 by the time it comes around).

The Friday is probably my favourite day with Queens, Paramore, Shikari and JEW. Saturday has a load of upcoming bands on NME in the afternoon who I'm looking forward to catching, Basement and Crosses are playing, and although I'm not really a fan of the bands on main in the evening but they'll be good for a sing-a-long (except Jake Bugg). Sunday is pretty busy with a fair few bands on main and lock up I want to catch so I'll likely be flipping between the two. I'm really looking forward to Letlive. as they have such a good reputation and Blink to close the weekend will be great as they have soany big hits.

Similar to most people. Like it but not enough decent bands on Sunday and think that later on Friday and Saturday the main two stages are pretty sparse. This is mainly down to some stupid places like jake bugg, imagine dragons and Macklemore. Still think it's good and with the good festival republic stage and lock up will be able to get my money's worth
