Listened to Mercy on youtube yesterday and it did nothing for me (though it was poor quality). Dead Inside is my favourite so far, though Reapers sounded promising.

Hopes for the album aren't particularly high any more, sadly. I'm sure there'll be a couple of gems on there like the last couple of albums though.

And yes, TSP needs to return!

I'm sad that the enormous excitement I used to feel about Muse just isn't there anymore. I remember getting properly beside myself at the thought of seeing them, crowd-surfing to Stokholm Syndrome, screaming as one with the crowd as the opening riff of Citizen smashed out of the PA...

Even as late as the second Wembley gigs I remember smiling every time the next song started, noting just how conspicuously 'better' Saturday's setlist was compared to Friday's! (sorry, Friday attendees...)

But now, they've just become a bit of a parody of themselves. They are still incredibly accomplished in the live setting, as evidenced at the Emirates gig. But that thrill has gone for me.

I'm lucky enough to have been in there early enough to have heard almost everything I would want to have heard live, the one exception perhaps being Megalomania.

And, though I love Absolution second only to OOS, I have never quite understood the level of love that The Small Print gets. I do like it a lot, especially the closing rock out, but the standout track of that section of the record for me, and one of my all time favourite Muse songs is Thoughts of a Dying Atheist. I got to hear it on the Absolution tour and think that's just about the only time they've ever played it, though real Muse obsessives might tell me how wrong I am! Matt's lyric of '...are you afraid to die...'cause it scares the hell out of me...' is one of my favourite Muse lines to sing.

Happy days but, I fear, bygone days. Maybe they just ran out of songs...bands do...

Anyone else heard the studio version of Mercy? It's alright, not too different to the live version as expected. It does sound like Starlight as Will said and would fit well on BH&R.

On a real though (probably due to my decreasing anticipation for it coming with every song we hear), it has crept up quickly. Only 2 and a half weeks until it's out.

I haven't even bothered to listen to Mercy yet. Psycho was a bit of simple fun, Dead Inside was boring, and I predict the rest of the album will be rubbish. Oh Muse, you have become so crap. Sold all my vinyls and singles on ebay a few weeks ago without hesistation.

Mercy is going be big live I think, its got that vibe about it where I think its a bit meh on record but its growing on me and you can sort of hear it live in your head....if that makes any sense (Reminds me of BH&R era really)

It wouldn't suprise me if the Gobalist did turn out to be Guiding Light 2

I was very excited at first when the album got announced, but as Will said my interest in it has decreased with each song they released. I didn't mind Psycho and Reapers is alright, Dead Inside I got bored of pretty quickly and Mercy is just the worst. Hopefully there'll be a few better ones in the album itself like Animals on T2L, won't dismiss the album though until I've heard the whole thing. Reckon we'll have a stream of the album the week leading up to release?

When I first heard Mercy I thought it was my favourite of the three (although did accept that may just be because it was new). Listened to them all together today and it's no better than the others. Why are the arpeggios so quiet? They're the best part of the song.

I think Psycho and Dead Inside are a lot better than Mercy personally. Mercy seems like 'Follow Me' to me, fucking horrible song that.
