Reapers! Oh boy it rocks. That guitar work is the finest guitar work I've known Matt Bellamy do and the bass lines by Chris Wolstenholme are back to the proper Muse groove. Dom Howard holds it together with some mesmerising beats. The arpeggios are huge, the solo is massive and the breakdown is gargantuan! They sound like band who are enjoying greatly what they are doing!

Can't wait for the whole album and listening through it all.

Mercy is poor imo. I dislike it in the same way I dislike Follow Me. Reapers is great though. Dont mind Dead Inside - love the bass.

Reapers is like a mishmash of overblown RATM riff ideas that just doesn't work. I suppose it will be quite fun live, but it still doesn't get me excited for Drones.

I tend to agree with this but anyone who says the album is sounding back to old Muse, I'm not sure what they listened to before. The other 3 aren't great with Reapers being slightly better.

It's just like old Muse...

...a perfect combination of the last old album and the last old album before that.

They should have called it Law of the 2nd Resistance and we'd all have known what to expect.

I'm not sure I'll ever be really interested in them again...and I was a pretty big fan. I remember the first tracks from OOS coming out and thinking OMG! I now hear a new Muse song and think OMG! For an entirely different reason...

I liked Mercy at first but after the initial excitement wore off I think it's poor. For me Reapers is the best by far, probably followed by Dead Inside (not too bad after the guitar hits, just like Madness), then Mercy/Psycho. Just shows how poor it's shaping up to be, really.

Other way round for me, really like the first half but hate the second haha. Heard that chord pattern so many times before and then the 'Feel me now, hold me please' *cringes*. Each to their own though! I'd say mine so far is Reapers> Psycho> Dead Inside>>>>>> Mercy.

Haha, I think it's the fact the stupid "dead inside" parts stop which makes it better. The vocals are good, whilst cringey as fuck.

Yeah, it's basically what they should have been doing on the last couple of albums when they wanted to attempt to crossover into decent pop music.
