But then why should Brian's vocals be worn out for Glasgow the following night when he is playing infront of loyal fans who have paid £70-90 a ticket?

No way are they going to get his sloppy seconds when Glasto will be 90% full of people who could not name more than 2 AC/DC songs if that

I still see it being Friday if it is too happen.

Sorry to be a beacon of negativity but other than AC/DC's woeful website, there isn't anything (currently) to say they're doing two nights in a row in Zurich/Cologne and looking for it on eventim.de it seems they have added a show in Munich two days after the show in the same stadium. Them not doing back to back shows in the same stadium doesn't look good for doing back to back shows over Glastonbury weekend. They did of course do back to back shows in the British Isles on last tour so it's not completely out of the question but they're a massive underdog now.

Pretty sure these dates are correct piecing together from various sources.

AC/DC website will be correct eventually - probably after the events!!

I tend to trust their Facebook posts that come a day or so after other announcements.

Well either their Facebook is wrong or their official site is wrong. :P

edit: BTW that Zurich date is right, it's the day after I'm doubting.

Every year there is always one!

Anyway the reason would be, because if they do Glastonbury they would want the benefit of the TV audience which means they would need to put in a top notch performence!

Plus its far more plausible to do two dates in a row in the same country and be fit to do both shows, than it is to travel from Europe surely?

It is their last ever tour almost certainly

Based on previous tours Brian would be 73 next time they did one which makes it unlikely, given the pressure on his voice with his singing style

AC/DC will want to go out in style and their priority will be to their loyal hardcore fans who pay a ticket to their shows

Brian would never accept putting on an under par performance for the hardcore fans, which would be very likely if he did Glasto Saturday and Glasgow Sunday

If AC/DC do Glasto they would only do it on the Friday imho, AC/DC would let the 'hipsters in wellies' have the sloppy seconds not the hardcore fans

you're clearly a big fan so seem to be a little blinded, but you've got to think; which of these shows is going to boost record sales / make them the most money - the one that's going to be aired on television that thousands and thousands of non-fans will watch, or the one full of fans who more than likely already own all the albums? it's a nice thought to think that AC/DC might favour those few loyal fans, but in reality, like most bands, they want to make money. maybe they will do the Friday, but imo, if they play, it'll be the Saturday

well if the dates are correct, they have no problem doing it in Switzerland/Germany.

anyway, Brian's vocals are fucking atrocious at the best of times now, so I doubt it will make much noticeable difference to fans in Edinburgh.

Saturday rather than Friday makes more sense from both a logistically point of view, and for TV performance purposes.

i still doubt they'll actually play at all though.

The real money in music is made out of touring, Album sales make little money for an artist it's all about tours, album sales have to be shared among likes of iTunes/retailers/record label/producer/songwriter, I think I read somewhere that in a typical 9.99 cd the artist will make 60-90p (12-18p each with 5 members)

Whereas a tour is a licence to print money, the Black Ice tour made the 5 members nearly £150m between them

So AC/DC make their real money out of tours so would want to see a packed stadium on a tour more than some album sales from being on BBC

they really show how much they care about their fans with those ticket prices...

whether the stadium is packed won't matter by the time the show comes along. his voice could be in tatters and it won't make a difference as the people will've already paid for their tickets, whereas the money they'll make from a good Glastonbury performance depends quite a bit on his voice being up to scratch

The prices are £60-72.50 which is quite reasonable when you consider what Bieber - 1D - Gaga - Rihanna etc charge, I think the best place in the house to see 1D was £125

Rock or Bust prices are competitive IMHO

I am really hoping they do Glasto, only reason I took the plunge and bought a ticket, but given the dates and AC/DC's DNA I really can't see it happening

I would imagine AC/DC have a fairly accurate idea of where the money is. It's with their fans. I doubt a bit of extra exposure on tele will open up much of a new market to them....

"ooh look, I never imagined they sounded like that. What have I been missing all these years? "

Exactly the same can be said about any of the well established bands who have headlined GF - to do GF it is nothing to do with the money though some new album sales are always good.

It is because you want to.

Just ask Mick.

yet a good Glastonbury performance has been shown to increase album sales for certain acts every year. of course we all know what AC/DC sound like and what they deliver, but how is one pre-paid for show at Glasgow with slightly lesser vocals going to affect their money or fanbase in any way in comparison to a live Glastonbury performance on television?

and of course, what matty above said. they'll do Glastonbury if they want to, and i'm sure they'll want to come away from that performance with as many new fans as possible. having a shite voice isn't going to accomplish that. current fans will be far more forgiving of bad vocals than people there for curiosities sake

Well I think it's usually album and tour sales. Knock off tour sales as it's the last one and you're left with album sales which are a pittance for a band like AC/DC and their touring manager is gonna steer them away from that. The Rolling Stones were in a similar boat and their greatest hits compilation went up to no. 19 and their TV performance was panned by many so it's not the greatest tale, and they got triple what AC/DC would from the festival too. Fleetwood Mac also in a similar boat knocked the festival back.

Unless they've always really wanted to then I can't see it and if they had then I think they'd have probably left the weekend clear instead of squeezing it in and playing irregular back to back shows.

yes, but we're talking about if they're playing, which day would be most beneficial to them.

there's no logical reason for them to be playing the Friday.

the Saturday, for both travelling and performance purposes, is the obvious choice IF they're going to do it.

travelling from Germany and playing Friday just so Brian's voice can be slightly better (and still awful) for a bunch of die-hards makes little sense really.

They got what every other headliner gets according to the Eavi?
