Going by the interview they did on Radio 6 I think they seemed like they wanted to. Angus was in the background just shouting "yes!" wasn't he? Just seems odd to string everyone along like that rather than just saying no.

I don't think it is 100% no chance of them doing glasto but the schedule so far for their tour suggests it highly unlikely, everywhere has a gap in between, even shows at the same location, so I just don't see them making an exception for Glasto

Maybe 2016 as the tour extends up to October 2016

Keeping a positive outlook, it just depends whether they're willing to make an exception - which isn't entirely impossible.

That's what they did with Download and stuff last time. Could happen.

if they wanted to play they would have built in a space in their tour for it. could have played Scotland on the Monday for example...

i'd say they're highly, highly unlikely to play.

Brian said it is going to be an 18 month tour, so as dates seem to be kicking off in the spring, it is likely to go on till October time the following year

If they knew in June it was going to be an 18 month tour and their agent was at Glastonbury, maybe 2016 was agreed based on Glastonbury not wanting too many heavy acts in a row. Same could be guessed for Download though.

Maybe - although their agent until 1983 was the one at the festival.

Perhaps they've arranged their tour so they can pop by and see the Saturday headliner and OK 2016... and when they see all the folk grooving along to Florence they call it off and get Andy Copping on the phone.

What is certain tho is that the licences do not stipulate anything about fallow years (legally, they can't do that within multi-year licences), and sooner or later I expect the fallow year to disappear altogther.

After all, the fallow year has moved from every 3rd year to what it was last time (6 years?) over time, and although it gets said it's about letting the farm recover, it's always been much more about placating the locals.

And those locals need less placating nowadays, plus the regulatory situation around licences now make it far harder for their objections to make an impact.

I reckon that once the fest is solely in Emily hands, fallow years are done with.

I could be wrong here, but I thought that was just a licence amendment rather than a full application.
