Gas Cooking

Aup everyone,

This is my third year at bestival, think this is the most excited I've been. The line up is so so so good!

Last year I hoped of a plane from america straight to bestival so didn't bother with food or a cooker. This year there's 3 of us going all on a budget so we're planning to cook. I have a gas stove pans etc, will this be all okay to take in?

Don't really want to buy food if I can't cook it!

Gas canisters aren't allowed. You'll need a solid fuel hexi stove instead.

To be honest I'm surprised to learn that gas canisters aren't allowed -- but it's right there in the T&Cs which come with the ticket, and are in the "key info" PDF here: http://2014.bestival.net/info/key-info

There's every chance you could smuggle some in, but people do get searched, and if that happens to you, you'll have a load of food and no way to cook it. So go solid fuel as suggested by hdsm, or a meths burner.

Wow, i didn't realise gas canisters weren't allowed. Guess i'll be buying my morning cup of tea instead of making it then =(
