Aldershot & District bus 351 (MOR 587) 1955 AEC Reliance Weymann, rebuilt Strachan coach (256), Onslow St. bus station, Guildford, 29 March 1972.jpg English: Aldershot & District bus 351 (reg. MOR 587), a 1955 AEC Reliance single-decker with Weymann bodywork, pictured in Onslow Street bus station, Guildford, Surrey, about to depart on route 26 to Ryde's Hill. The bus was originally built with 41 seat Strachan Everest coach bodywork with a single centre door entrance, being numbered 256 for use as an express coach. In 1966 it and 14 others were rebuilt & renumbered by Weymann from the chassis up as a front entrance 40 seat bus, suitable for one man operation. Pictured at the wheel is a female driver - along with many others, the company began to hire women in the 1970s to cope with driver shortages.

Taken down by Birkenhead old docks at Woodside. I thought this was a really clear old picture until I spotted the wheelie bin in the background (followed by the 2012 copyright).

Anyway, you can just make out it was bus L255
