Technically speaking it's not the rubber that fascinates - it's actually the missing bits of rubber that create the gaps / patterns in the tyre to give it's tread. I'm a Tread Slut not a Rubber Fetishist. Well, I am for the moment anyway. lol

I have an 'eye' like that sticking out of the wall of my upstairs toilet. It startles a few people from time to time. It's a 'proper' looking 3D glass eye embedded into the plaster of the wall. Not sure if the toilet qualifies as a 'room of fear' though. I'd give it a 7, really - quite a bit of wriggle room to get to a 10.

Sounds awesome...I bet that's a talking point for first-time visitors!! Does it ever startle you if you need to get up in the night to visit the loo when you're still half asleep?

It has indeed been mentioned by most, if not all, first time visitors. I can confirm that it never startles me when half asleep while using the loo. As my willy seems to have a mind all of it's own when urinating, most of my concentration is geared towards preventing an unsanitary slap stick comedy moment.
