I agree, I think they might still show up at G, stranger things have definitely happened

They aren't the quickest band at recording I don't think, I'm sure they like to take their time and get it fucking spot on

Surely an album doesn't actually take that long to record? Like if they have the songs written/know what what they want to do? The actual process could be done within a couple of weeks?

Single in June, Glasto, release the album in august with some small shows, then a full on winter tour their "biggest" to date.

Yeah I agree. But the Pilton Party thing where we all said "nah they can't be playing as they won't be touring then" and lo and behold, they are touring. Considering with R+L and fallow year in between, it might be 2018 earliest that they could headline so it might not be too detrimental.

2018 is shaping up to be a decent year, Muse return after 8 years with their lastest album (which is a standard Muse album with what ever the latest crazed is tinged on top) and Foals...nice

i'd imagine that Foals are only doing those festivals to keep the bank balances in check while they're away for a couple of years.

i wouldn't expect any new material this year, and I wouldn't expect the festival slots to have any new songs either.

RE: Foals, I heard from someone close to them that they'd been offered R&L headline this year but umm'd and ahh'd about it for too long. I imagine this is because they knew the album wouldn't be out so it wouldn't make sense. Can see them getting the headline slot next time around, once the new album's out (last this year/ early next year I'd imagine)

The setting is very important for Bob concerts. People still expect 1965 big hair acoustic Bob to walk out - "HEYYYYYY Mr Tamborine Man......."

I don't doubt for a minute that this is correct, Melvin seems happy to bump them up as soon as they can, I think it would have been a bad decision of their behalf to headline this year

They could though, headline the other stage in preparation for the step up to R/L (I'm clutching so tightly)

It does seem that he`s playing smaller more intimate venues, but if Glasto does want to get him, and he would want to play, the gap in his schedule makes it possible....one can dream I guess...and if not, I`ll be driving through Turin on the 2nd of July, so might as well stay for the night
