Englishdragon
So Im not going to Glastonbury this year (didnt try to get a ticket) and my friends and I are looking at smaller festivals to go to. Has anyone been to Y not and would recommend it? Were looking for something cheaper than the big festival where you can chill out by your tent more often and not worry about missing everything (so big camping space). The line up for it last year looked great (Frank Turner, White lies, De La soul, Reel big fish, andrew wk) but I worry if it attracks a "younger" crowd that decide on not going to Reading and Leeds. Uncle Liam
When I went in 2012 it was full of fourteen year old Wombats fans. Considering me and my friends were there primarily for British Sea Power and I Like Trains, you can imagine what it was like for us. Saying that, did managed to get absolutely steaming at it. Lovely ales...
Yoghurt on a Stick
If you are not completely big band music orientated then I'd suggest Shambala. There are no big named bands that force you to leave the campsite - you just get up and have a walk around as and when you feel like it. That's not to say that there isn't some very good music there. Plus there's an opportunity to dress up on Fruity Friday and for the big fancy dress parade on Saturday. And if that weren't enough it's got a lovely vibe. You can even take part in things like Laughing Workshops, and other completely barmy stuff. Lovely setting too. Oh, and the loos are kept clean throughout. And you can carry your own drink around the whole site ie there is no enclosed arena.
