I saw Public Service Broadcasting last night at Manchester Albert Hall. Really good gig. They kept almost every track short and snappy (bar one awesome exception), which seemed a shame but did allow them to cram a packed set in. Spot on mix of the epic recorded voiceover clips they are most famous for and beautiful live vocals, plus a great brass section. One of my favourite venues too! -

I’d normally agree but I think this case is different. If they’d bagged CR for 2024 it would’ve have been like when they got Billie Eilish and Postie playing mid afternoon, looking back they were sensational bookings. Missed the boat for that slot for CR and they won’t get her for anything less than second down now. She’s a certified pop star and ticket shifter right now even if she is relatively new on the scene. -

Don’t think I’d put Arcade Fire and Kasabian in the same bracket at all. Win being an a**hole aside, Funeral is a genuine masterpiece. -

Selina's! A legendary spot. Was sad I didn't get over that way last year - just didn't quite work out! Managed a few decent venues in Melbourne and Perth. Had to settle for the ICC Super Theatre in Sydney. -

In a way, part of me wonders just how different a Fender show here is going to be against the one from R+L last year, for example. It doesn't feel like there will be much more alteration. He'll still probably play Spice and Howdon Aldi Death Queue, which - with all respect - are throwaway shite.
