New Floating points! @bennyhana22

OMG!

I listened to the opening section, the beats, the glitches, the bassy bits, the occasional guitar figure and thought - this is really nice. Then the whole thing kicked off.

Fucking nora! This is, on first listen, probably as good as anything on Elaenia, and there are tracks on there that I adore. If this is a taste of the new EP, and an indication of what they'll do at GF, then I might be looking at my future set of the weekend.

PLEASE, Festival Gods, give them a decent slot in the dark. Or at least, in the twilight.

Thanks, zero - completely ace.

I can't imagine where they're going to have Floating Points playing, I live in constant fear of a clash or bad placement

Have you listened to/watched that track above that zero linked?

Just watched it again. It is frickin' incredible, especially in the middle section. Just phenomenal. TBH, unless the clash is with Sigur Rós or EITS, the schedulers can't create any dilemma for me. Wherever Sam and the boys are, I am.

Could you even imagine a late night Glade slot for them, playing this kind of stuff in the dark? It would be the thing of Glastonbury legend for the cognoscenti...!

Make it so, Eavii.

I'm gonna tweet Sam. I bloody well am!

i hadn't even considered glade for Floating Points, that would be just lovely.

i had them for west holts but that feels far from certain now and they would be fairly mid bill / late afternoon on that stage so it wouldnt necessarily suit them the best.

this is quite a lot different from anything on the album but i definitely like the experimental synth direction.

Just finished watching there, really fantastic stuff isn't it, I'm very impressed. Verging on unmissable at GF for me, that last slot of the night in The Glade really would be special

also i'm off to see four tet DJ tonight so will report back on that one

Is it in a venue with good sound? If so you definitely won't be disappointed, I think his DJ sets are euphoric, really build you up to a peak and blow you away

I think that Floating points video was taken from the Manchester show in February, as one of the youtube commenter noted. I was at the show, and having watched the video through twice today my drunken memory is coming back to me. It was phenomenal live! You guys are in for a treat at Glastonbury :)

I disagree, MM.

Obviously it's a wonderfully indulgent live jam, so they can take their time and just let the track evolve, without the constraints of being on an LP. But, I think that it shares a musical bed with the Silhouettes series and Peroration Six quite comfortably!

Long time lurker, heading off to my 4th Glastonbury this year (YAY)... and need some more music recommendations. Currently love Bonobo, Maribou State, Four Tet and enjoyed George Fitzgerald's set last year. Any recommendations will be gratefully received!

Welcome, we are all well and truly obsessed with electronica and glastonbury in this thread, so keeping tabs on this should keep you well informed with the goings on at the festival.

You should check out some Bicep who have self confirmed to be playing, @Matt42 should be able to point you in the direction of where to start there

Here's some beats from The Black Madonna who had also said she'll be playing this year, you might like it
