Do you think he would make a good Latitude headliner? I've not seen him. I'd prefer Portishead but I could definately see it working.

He'd get a decent crowd and the punters would love the oasis songs, but it'd lack the magic that beth, geoff and co are going to bring on saturday night at the Obelisk, and for that reason I refuse to let myself believe noel and his high flying birds are headlining.

If they are though and there are no great acts this year that I really want to see (a la portishead) then I might not get a ticket, cos y'know money and shit.

Why would it have to be Noel OR Portishead? Both are down as SR aren't they? Surely room for both as headliners, there are three nights available.

Melvin Benn said the three headliners are:

- An act they've been after for ages

- An act that's worked their way up the bill

- A returning headliner

Both Noel and Portishead would only fit the first one.

Although Melvin also said one of the Reading headliners had a top 10 album in the last year, which was complete bullshit.

I heard that Melvin said that about the headliners but that was ages ago, possibly he was talking of his intentions before the headliners were actually booked maybe? I don't know.

Looking forward to finding out Tuesday though. Best thing about my festival line ups being announced is making a good Spotify playlist and discovering new bands to fall in love with.

eeek the more i think about the first one the more i think its Noel. You could imagine they were after him to do the Joanna Newsom thing but probably declined as he was too busy with "best fookin band in the werrrlldd" Latitude also likes it brit pop associates ala Damon Albarn, Jarvis Cocker, Suede. Where as Portishead have done quite a few festivals since Third and i doubt they would of been that hard to book?

so...how does Sam Smith, Noel and Florence sound to everyone?

I first thought Noel, being a T in the Park headliner, too big for Latitude, but there's not many English festivals left to announce that he could headline. Maybe Melvin offered him a Leeds headline slot next year or something?

I had kind of hoped that the 'act they've been after' would be The Cure, but that doesn't seem to be on the cards unfortunately.

Search your feelings..you know it to be true

Luckily enough i am probably the single worst predictor of festival headliners ever, hopefully ill stay true to form and the end result will be nothing resembling that

I was thinking he would be a shoe in to headline v, having played second from top there a few years ago and its got more of a boner for brit pop acts than even latitude. I also see hes headlining Calling festival this year. Stranger things have happened, But T, V, Latitude and Calling? Good time to be Noel Gallaghers bank account, not bad for someone who has not released anything all that good in 20 years.

yer NG would be great, I love Oasis now they are a timeless band :) .

I think headliners could be

NG, Alt-J and ben Howard. What with his new album out and all.

That would be an amazing line up

As a radio 6 headliner I would LOVE : Fuse ODG ! and gorgon city !

Plus I would love to see:

Years and years, Amber Run, King Charles, Augustines and bears den.

DJ's:

Blonde, Artful dodger, wise and oddsey.
