Headliners 2015 - Wishes, rumours, my mate knows someone who knows someone that says...

Sorry but that was my worst case scenario. I'd personally prefer Portishead, The National and someone who's worked their way up through the ranks (dunno who has, really).

I'm still feeling hurt by your previous "banter", but this has made me feel better

Can't wait for the announcement of Sam Smith, Noel Gallagher and Snow Patrol though. GOML won't be able to contain himself.

I'll be holding you personally to account if this comes to pass. How dare you suggest this right before I go to sleep, you enormous helmet.

Also I've been listening to that new Sleater-Kinney album non-stop. It's good, ain't it?

Gimme Portishead, a good returning headliner, The Cribs as a sub, Sleater-Kinney somewhere (headline 6music?), Savages, Alvvays, East India Youth and that's kinda all I'm listening to at the moment that I can think of being there.

Good calls.

A big hope is for danny brown to pop up on the obelisk (he's playing longitude so not entirely unfeasible) purely for the reaction of the standard middle aged latitude goer. And yeah to get turnt up.

Just been looking at the Tour dates of the previous headliners and two of them have very large Latitude sized gaps in their July schedule. Damien Rice and Interpol.
Damien is playing in Ireland on the 16th and France on The 20th giving him a clear route to latitude, so i think its pretty dead on hes playing, headlining? im not so sure. whilst Pols is a little more tricky, theyre in Canada on the 15th and then in the States on the 20th so they're quite unlikely i would say.

I know it's only the day before but I'll put you out of your misery. I've been reliably informed (I hope) that the Headliners are...

Portishead

Alt-J

& Noel Gallaghers HFB

I'm surprised by NGHFB especially since Melvin's original comments about a returning headliner. I'd love to know what happened. The only thing I can think of is that there is a returning healiner who isn't headlining? although I know that happened last year with Mogwai.

We'll find out tomorrow : )

very surprised about Noel. thought he'd be far too big for Latitude (especially with headlining TITP). people will be happy about Portishead though. very envious!

I don't know that he plays that many Oasis hits, I'm sure he'll play an Oasis song or two, but not many.

I'm not a Noel G fan by any stretch of the imagination but I'm just listening to the new album and I can see it working well at Latitude.

I think he does as my flat mate saw NGHFB at a festival a few years back , apparently he did wonderwall, dont look back in anger, stop crying your heart out, little by little and others as well as the flying birds songs all mixed in to the same set.

But we will have to see, I they do the same ! :)

Around half his set on the first album tour was Oasis songs, though that will probably be cut to 4/5 this time round.

Glimmers of hope indeed.

Maybe belle and sebastian as the returning headliner on 6 music up against Alt-J, would be excellent and they're probably not big enough to headline the obelisk considering how the festival has grown.

That'd be nice but I think if there are any (could be multiple too) it'll be Damien Rice somewhere on the Obelisk.
