Headliners 2015 - Wishes, rumours, my mate knows someone who knows someone that says...

A friend of mine who knows the organiser knows who the headliners are but is sworn to secrecy, but he did say that it wasn't The Cure (as I asked him just before one of the Hammersmith gigs in December) He also mentioned a band reforming will play too, although that might not have been a headline act....it all gets a bit hazy at this point as possibly a few beverages had been quaffed!

Prolapse are (more than likely) reforming this year. :)

Course, Sleater-Kinney are also back. Both of which i would be equally as excited about. I.e. VERY excited.

I reckon it'll be The Cure/Bjork, Alt J and Belle and Sebastian.

Not sure between The Cure and Bjork, though I have changed my mind about The Cure being too big for Latitude.

Are Belle and Sebastian big enough though? I think, what with the new album in a matter of weeks, they could well be.

Instead of B&S, it could also be Paul Weller - new album in April. But definitely not The National in my opinion; great band but they need a break!

My money would be on him or Bjork being the 'act they've been after for ages'.

they've had both in the last decade - I'd suspect ages is longer than that.

Neither Bjork or Morrissey have headlined Latitude before.

I took the quote to mean the Latitude event specifically, rather than Festival Republic in general.

BSP 3rd down on the main stage at Bearded Theory this year. That's about opening act level for Latitude.

Far too big, she'll be headlining major festivals this year.

I think Portishead are probably more likely than Bjork and Chemical Brothers for the act they've been after.

i'd say they're very very likely with this revelation. until now there was no indication that they were touring (i don't think?) which is why nobody's been predicting them, but i think they definitely fall in to a type of act that FR will've been after for a while
