DJ Snake will be good fun...similar to Major Lazer, Dillon Francis etc. bouncey bass/hip hop/trap

Been waiting to see In Flames for years, used to love them when Come Clarity came out, so will defo check them out if nobody clashes

Not too fussed about the others TBH

Incidentally, anyone who likes The War on Drugs and hasn't already discovered Strand of Oaks should definitely check them out. They were superb at Best Kept Secret last Friday. The lead singer/guitarist was so overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response of the crowd he came down the front for about 10 minutes afterwards to shake pretty much everyone's hand and thank each of us individually for coming. Not seen that kind of reaction since Charles Bradley gave everyone a hug after his show at PP 2012. It was quite sweet.

On the other hand, Mew have been removed from my PP shortlist. Ten minutes of that whiny "Jon Anderson from Yes" voice was about 9 minutes more than anyone should be expected to endure...

It'll definitely be busier than usual on Wednesday night but hopefully nothing like Disclosure last year. Not all weekend and Thursday ticket holders will be on site that night and many people like to spend Wednesday in the campsite chilling out/getting drunk/socialising so they won't even head to the pre-party. I think a lot of people will just dip in and out, although how long they stay will obviously be dependent on the quality of the line up.

Thought we'd get some names this week but was hoping it would be related to Radio Soulwax. Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes could be interesting in an 'Amazing Snakeheads' kind of way.

Those 'new' tents are pretty much the same as the back section they've had in the Boiler Room for the past couple of years, except with all the roof and majority of the side panels enclosed. A few festivals in Holland have been using them for a while now - I went to Awakenings in 2012 and they had three or four of them. A bid advantage is that there's no poles within the structure to obscure the view. I don't claim to be any kind of authority on the engineering side of things but I guess the metal frame provides more options for lights, screens and other bits and pieces to be hung pretty much anywhere.

It's funny to compare how did Rock Werchter solve the Foo Fighters problem in less than a week and how proceeded Pukkelpop when Neil Young cancelled.

Another rock giants like Faith No More booked and an extra show by Royal Blood. We got Major Lazer instead Neil Young 2 years ago.

Wechter: care for fans

Pukkelpop: care for $$$$$$

Indeed. They must have saved thousands of Euros on the line up that they've skimped on this year.

It varies slightly from year to year but usually a fortnight beforehand. Should get the stage splits in the next couple of weeks with a bit of luck so that will give a rough idea of times.

Been watching as much of the Glastonbury coverage as I can this weekend, keeping a close eye on the bands also playing PKP. Had them on my list anyway but Future Islands were amazing today - 100% 'must see' now. Goat looked like a complete party, albeit a weird one, and Django Django managed to prevail despite suffering technical issues. FFS just been on and that's another I'll make an effort to see. Been gutted about them for a while now anyway but seeing The Chems headline the Other Stage just reinforced how mental they would have been closing out the Main at PKP. Can't believe they let them slip through the net as they're doing three other festivals in Europe that weekend. The RW factor doesn't count for much really as we've obviously now got Alt-J, although I think the full story behind that booking is still to be told.

We saw Future Islands at BKS, admittedly from the rather lazy distance of the beer tent, but they seemed pretty good. Will probably give them a proper listen at PP, clashes notwithstanding.

I missed the FFS coverage (and iPlayer doesn't play over here). Did Ron Mael do his little dance routine during No.1 Song in Heaven? Worth the price of admission on its own if so...

Hopefully they found those extra 1,000 by dropping the combi tickets by 1,000, rather than just expanding capacity. Gets crowded enough as it is late on.

I'm guessing they've taken it from the combis as they've probably not sold as well as they thought. I think they'll have more success with the day tickets as to me, the days are quite clearly defined days - shite nu metal on the Thursday. Shite teeny bopper music on the Friday and half decent indie on the Saturday.

When they sell out all of these 3,000 day tickets they will have made roughly 100,000 euros profit compared to selling 1,000 combi's. It makes sense financially to sell as many day tickets as possible so like you Dave I wouldn't be surprised to see more become available.

Wonder what band/s they could book for 100,000 euros???

Think that ship has sailed tbh, but if they were looking to beef up the line up it'd surely be the Friday they'd be looking at.

Beck would my choice of what's around.

Good business sense on their part to be fair. There's obviously a demand for individual days but not the weekend. Testament to the increased price and overall weak line up.

I could be completely wrong of course but I still don't think they'll sell all the combis.

Interesting how the first batch of 1,000 Thursday tickets sold out in 2 minutes and yet the ones that went on sale this morning are still available. Reckon they will just sell as many day tickets as they can until they reach capacity. Like you say Dave, good business sense but who knows, maybe they'll plough some of the money back into the stage production (or free beer!!)??? I'm all up for more lasers in the Boiler (and/or free beer)!!

So they sold 1.000 thursday and saturday in 2 minutes and 3 days after they cannot sell the same ammount in a whole weekend?? LIES, LIES, LIES... Things that happen when you try to chargue 200€ For weekend tickets and 105€ for day tickets with LP, Bastile and Alt-J headlining. I have no idea about electronic music so I don't know if it's strong or weak, but rock music and Shelter programma Is a pain in the ass. I don't know who is the responsible Of this crap, but he MUST be fired after this edition.

The last lie will be say that the festival Is sold out during august.

I can't recognize this festival and its policy. NO DIRECTION.

Hi... Looking for some info/advice, if anyone could help that would be great. Me and a pal are looking at attending Pukkelpop for the first time and have a few questions.

Firstly I see some of you guys mentioning about staying in local hotels.... I like the idea of not having to travel with tent and the likes and can't see any pre-errected options so this idea sounds appealing.... is it easy enough in terms of getting to and from the festival site each day and any do you have any recommendations of where to stay?

Also in terms of traveling from the UK, I've looked at coach packages, flying and the eurostar.., again I would be interested to hear your opinions on which is best.

Thanks
